My mom and me are a busy couple

Today I finished the Nantucket Pincushion from Indigo rose and I just love how it looks. Also love doing specialty stitches and there are a lot in it. Here is also a pic from a side. It is little. There is also some over one stitching in it.
Today I also got the fabric for the victorian sewing box, it is a workshop I will do next tuesday. The yellow fabric is for the whole box and you will see the cats on all the side and the top.
I just got this photo from my father from the pillows the made for my aunt, who has her 48th anniversary this weekend and this is their present from my parents. I bought this fabrics 2 years ago in Canada

and now my mother has used them. Off course my dad has done the cutting again.

Yes I did it.

I am so in awe as I just finished the stitching chair. Getting everything prepared was simpler, but making it into a chair is a little harder. Well I love how it turned out.
Now I started a little one from Indigo rose, son't know the name.

Nice mail day

First I want to thank everyone for the nice comments lately. It makes me always very happy to know so many people ready my blog and like what I make.
Today finally my birthdaypackage for Robin's Nest arrived on my doorstep. Natty made me a nice bellpull. Now I have to find some bellpull hardware for it. When I made the photo I found out why my pic of the quilt is so blurry the camera was standing on the wrong installment.
Also just a few minutes ago our mailman Wim (who always brings our big packages in the evening as he knows we aren't home in the day, we really have to keep him :-)) brought my book package with 4 novels of Jennifer Chiaverini. I bought them in English as I hope they take me a little longer to read.

Back again

Since last night I am back from my retreat and had a great time there. Lots of chatting with old and new friends and also got some great sewing tips as I was making some difficult blocks for my mysterie. I decided a name and it will be called "lentekriebels", don't know how to translate it to english, but something like "spring is coming" says the same. On the pics you see that I don't have that much to do anymore (sorry for the blurry pic) and I hope to have it finished soon. I did do the midlestar en the roundblocks at the weekend and got some great tips from two ladies as those blocks were really hard. Yesterday I started doing the round corners and as youcan see I finished two of the outer rounds. I hope to do some more today as I just want to have it finished.
I had my camera with me, but forgot to stick in a memory card so no pics were taken by me on the retreat :-(
Beds were fine only I didn;t sleep on mine a lot the first night as I stayed up till 2.30 am and was up around 7.30 am. The second evening I was so tired that I went to bed already 10.30 pm and I even didn;t notice the other 5 ladies coming in as I was in some sort of coma :-) I woke up the next dat very well rested.

Finished Summer Snapperland

Here is finally the pic of the finished summer snapperland. I really love the look of the snapperlands. Now only Autumn is left to stitch, but that one has to wait at least a month as I have some other things to stitch.
Next to stitch is the stitchingchair. Now I am really gone to pack my bags, but before I forget thanks for the nice comments on my first shirt.

I am still alive

I know I am a bit silence, but Iam busy preparing for my quiltingretreat this weekend. I will leave friday around lunchtime and come back sunday afternoon. I have cut a lot of blocks from the mysterie that is solved now. Just have to do still a lot of sewing. I hope to cut some more the coming day and than I am sure I will be finished soon with the whole mysterie and I can start quilting it.
Yesterday I have finished summer snapperland and there will be a pic later this week or next week, just when I have time to take the pic. I am in a hurry right now as I have to go to my sewing class in a few minutes.
Today we had some beautifull weather and I love it very much. Finally some sun.
Bye for now and see you all soon.

Exchange received and birthday package

Today I first had to open the door for the mailamn which brought me my redwork exchange from Myrna. She made me a beautifull pinkeep and included some beautifull goodies, you can see now that I feel very spoiled.
Than an hour later I hear the mail fell on the doorstep and there was a nice birthday package from Danielle with Britty Kitty III and Hrvest blessing in it.This morning my mother called for my husband as it is his birthday today, but he was already gone to work, but she told me she finished the quilt for their bed and here it is. Isn't it beautifull. My dad did all the cutting and my mother did do the machinesewing and handquilting on it.

Finished TrickORTreat box

Well I also worked on the FAL weekend on focus on finishing this weekend. Don't have a wordpress acount yet, so can't post it there.
I just did the last finishing on the trickortreat box and I am totally in love with it. It did cost some time, but I am happy now. The lid was the most difficult, but it looks great too. Still have to add the pumpkin, but that will have to wait a while.
Also had another finish, but can't show it as it is for the our love of needlework exchange on SBEBB. But I am sure my partner will love it. At least I hope she will.

Another DJ block

I just finished h8 and also finished this one in a row with the rest. The yellow/pumpkin one is the new one.

A few minutes ago I read the finishing for the trickortreat box and I think I will manage.

Biscornu exchange received

I just received the most beautifull biscornu from Karin . She stitched me a beautifull biscornu and she first made herself the glass button in the centre and than made the design around that and it looks simply great. Thanks very much Karin.
I also got the biscornu chart from Cat Whiskers and Dinkey Dyes and two GASTBubblegum and Punchberry and some piecemaker needles.
Later today or tomorrow I can show you the next dj block I have finished, only left to do are 3 corners.

Sorry keeping you busy

With the last post being totally stitchy, this one will be totally quilty. Today I finished dj block f8 which wasn't a very difficult one, but very nice to do. I have now 7 of my big quilt finished and I am now going to work on h8 which is a lot more difficult to do.

Also I decided I am working around the middle and I will sew the blocks together when I finished a strip or round around the middle. You will know what I mean when it grows. So here is already a little sewn together and I really like it. Only g6 and h8 to go and than I can sew the 9 together and starting the next round.

Also I wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments on my quilting and stitching lately.

This week I also decided what to do for the patterns for the Sun Bonnet calender quilt and you will see later what I decided.

3 finishes

Yesterdayevening I finished Starlight sampler from Little house needleworks. I loved stitching it every minute. Due to the exchanges you see more down this post I couldn't finish it sooner. I am thinking of now starting the stitching chair, but also doing some hours on summer snapperland.

I got the word that my redwork exchange arrived at Paulaher place yesterday. I made her a needlebook. As she is the celtic stitcher I thought of stitching her a celtic design and when I was busy I decided on 3 celtic knots.

I also got the word my Biscornu exchange arrived. I had Vonna and I didn't know, but green is her favorite color. It is stitched in DMC 502. Now I have to go and get a start on the our love of crossstitch exchange as that has to go out at the end of this month.
