Than on to the stashbustingreport, the last one of this year. I busted fabric for the backing of 40T and I busted a bit for a quilt for my colleague. Nothing came in.

sscs

Well thursday early in the morning I unwrapped my gift as I was going away until today and I just love what I received, a beautifull crochetted and felted bag. I am surely going to use it.
Thanks Annie.
Than today I did send an e-mail to Dawn my exchange pattern to see if she had figured out what it was she received, well she didnt, just see her e-mail:

"After I had cleaned up, and we still had visitors, I then said, look what I have received from the Netherlands and went and obtained the box from the tree. I opened the smalller of the two parcels first and was absolutely estatic with the materials - just LOVE the tonings - you got it very right., then the bigger parcel - yes this did have us all intrigued as we went from discussing what it would be used for - well you can imagine , we tried every which way but couldnt work out the "final" use - we had tried to make it into casserole holders, shapes, but you had us all miffed. I think it was the gorgeous Xmas fabric which made us all think it was a Xmas themed product, hence why we were trying think it was a "kitchen" themed idea!!!! I can say that i too just LOVE the fabric - in fact have one of the "dot" ones and also the candy cane ones which I purchased in New Zealand earlier in the year, so that is absolutely amazing.

Now - a Sewing Machine cover - let me go and see.......................................
oh you are amazing - how on earth did you know it would fit???? Do you have the same machine????
Thanking you - it is lovely and looks great - have it on there now - cant wait to show the visitors as to where it belongs!!!"

Yes I saw this machinecover on the modabakeshop and just fell in love and immediately thought about Dawn and that I would make it for her from my "Winter" Jellyroll. I asked on an onlinegroup I belong too if someone had a machine like hers and if they could meassure it for me and someone could do it. I am very gratefull that she was so helpfull. That is why it looks a bit strange on my machine as a Bernina has a table on it and not mine. I am glad she likes it so much and they had so much fun to find out what it was for.
I have to say I loved making it and will probaly make one for my own sewingmachine too as soon as I have a few things I must finish have finished.

2 finishes and Little red riding hood

What shall I show you first LRRH or my finishes. Well I think the finishes.

First I finished a tuffet, which is a pincushion and also a schnibbles pattern from Miss Rosie. It is made from leftovers from the november schnibble.
Than I also made another fabricwreath, now for myself. I love how this one came out too. You can find a tutorial here, but I have to say I make the little bags a bit different so that I have the opening onthe back, I also don't close that little hole as it is real small and also on the wreath itself.
And than off course the monthly update on Little red riding hood. Another 2 pages finished and a lot done on the next 3 pages.
I am also very busy with 40T, all the stars are finished and am now busy with the ninepatches. Hopefully it will be finished the coming days.

SSCS ornament

I just read that my package arrived at dawn and she is happy with it. I am always worried if a package will arrive or not. I stitched her an ornament as about my stitching I am sure it is beautifull. It is from LHN from an ornament issue( don't know which one for sure.)
Now she has to wait for 2 weeks before opening the rest of the packages.

Busy bee

I am very busy with work at the moment and some private stuff and almost can't find anytime to blog myself or read blogs. Hope the coming weeks will be a bit better.
This week my brother was in Winconsin and well as some of you know there was a lot of snow there. I am so jealous as I just love snow. Today we finally have had a cold night and I just love it. John is , like last saturday, working, so I have the house for myself all day. Today I will be cooking Cassoulet. The beans are already soaking for 10 hours. I hope it will taste nice in the end.
This week I received my sscs package and you see here a pic of the ornament on the package, isn't it a beautifull ornament? Annie is my partner and my so curious what is in the package. Can't almost not wait to open.
This week I worked on 40 T as I would love to have it finished this year. I still have 12 more of these stars to do and than if I am corret 13 ninpatches. I hope I can make it in that time.
Than how am I doing on my goals for december
- Work on the caroline christmas mysterie done
- Work on the mysterie designer bom (finish block 5,6 and 7 and work a bit more on the finishing kit).
- Work on 40T done
- Make two blocks for the sbs quilt.
- Start quilt for my colleague
- Finish 2 pages of LRRH done

A finish

When I was at my parents my mother gave me the quilted Cindy Lou Who. She handquilted it for me. I just love what she did with it. There is a flower in each snowball block.
I tried to make a detail pic of it.. Didn't work out to well, but I hope you can see it.
Tomorrow I hope to make a pile of tuffets.

stashbusting report week 49

Last week I got some fabric as presents and also my price from the schnibbles. And after a bit of debating I decided to count it after all as fabric in. Also today came an order from fatquartershop. I had to order the year of schnibbles pattern "tuffets" and because only an envelope with one pattern is a bit to empty I also ordered two charmpacks from alliance and some yardage.
Also fabric went out. The charmpack for the christmas wreath in my last post and some more background fabric for the carolina mysterie.

Fabric in week 49: 6.55 meter
Fabric out week 49: 3.35 meter

Fabric in 2009: 144.75 meter
Fabric out 2009: 144.85 meter

Fabric busted: 0,10 meter

A fabric wreath

This is for my parents. I made it today and just love how it came out. Now have to make another one for myself, another 40 cushions need to be sewn. It is made with a charmpack of Moda "Winter"collection.

Than I still needed to show my schnibbles prize from last month. Isn't it beautifull.
Don't forget the giveaway in an earlier post

carolina christmas

Don't forget my giveaway.
-----------------------------------
I am busy with the carolina christmas mysterie and I just love working on it. I am almost finished with part 2, so I hope part 3 will come soon. For the year of schnibbles we will do the tuffets from Miss rosie.

Answers and Goals

A lot of people ask why I am giving angel of summer away. Well that is an easy one to answer for me. I am with everyone that she is beautifull, but she is not my style and just don't have room to hang her and she is already finished for some years now and for the girls saying that it must have taken me very lon to finish, that is not true, she was finished in about 6 weeks I think.

I decided to give myself a few goals per month again as it motivates me a bit better. Here are they for December:
- Work on the caroline christmas mysterie
- Work on the mysterie designer bom (finish block 5,6 and 7 and work a bit more on the finishing kit).
- Work on 40T
- Make two blocks for the sbs quilt.
- Start quilt for my colleague
- Finish 2 pages of LRRH

Also I received a prize I one with the year of schnibbles, now my question is do you also count the fabric you win or get as a gift?

Than Fabric went out also. I have busted 8 yards for the Carolina Christmas mysterie from Bonnie, already started the quilt and like it so far.

November schnibbles

Yesterday evening I finished my november schnibbles, as soon as I finished the october one, as slow I am with the november one. It wasn't my favourite, not totally happy with the result as it is very red (I think). May be I will add another border to it when I have looked at it very long and can decided which fabric will look great with it, but maybe I will leave it this way.

SSCS and more

Well my sscs gift is send and here is the pic of it.

LOL that is all I will be showing of it till after christmas. Loved working on the gift.

I decided to partipate in Bonnie's next mysterie, the carolina christmas. I already picked out my fabrics, very scrappy, had big problems finding the right colors gold and big enough pieces. Looking forward to see how it will look like when finished.
Than I am also busy with the november schnibbles, which I only have to add the sashings too and the border, won't do it according to the pattern. A pic of the finished top will follow later this week.

Monthly update of lttile red riding hood

She is growing fantastic. This month I have finished 2 pages, but I also have stitched on another piece, so two pages is not bad at all. And do you she HER, there she is little red riding hood, showing her face.
Also in the coming month there will be a giveaway on this blog as I am up to 700 posts and also I am posting here for 4 years next month. If you are on my follower list on the left of the page you will get one more entry on winning, but I will explain more in the coming weeks. It will be a big stitched piece from me (no not little red riding hood), one that I finished a few years back, only left for you to do when you win it is framing it.
Yesterday evening I finally started on my picnic quilt and I did already do all the pieces for the baskets, now I have to cut the sashings and the border and than start to do the assembling.

I am a winner

I am a very happy girl. I read on Sherri her blog from the year of schnibbles that I won a prize, it is a panel from Fabulous fall with coordinating fabrics. I will show the prize when it will arrive.
Than today when I was at my work I saw on our webpage from the hospital that there were tickets for the musical Chigaco, two for the price of one and as we are married for 9 years this weekend. I decided to do it and order them. So we will have a nice evening in two weeks.
Hope it will be as good or better than Mamma Mia, where we were at the end of September, also with tickets from my work.
I really have to go now and work on the cloths.

Two baby jackets

Did you see the parade of schnibbles. I just love the look of them all. Next one is Picnic. I have the pattern and the fabric line that is in line to get used is Winter. Looking forward to see how that one will look when finished.
Today I have been working on both these jackets. They went together very fast and also I think they came out very nice. Next to make are two sweaters. Fabric is cut already, now only the sewing is there to do.

Next is sewing cloths for two babyboys. Pics will probaly follow tomorrow.

A finish

Due to my mother Good Fortune was finished last weekend. She has hand quilted it for me and also put the binding on it. I love my mother very much. Thanks Mom!!!. I love how it turned out very much. She has done a really good job on it and now Cindy Lou Who is with her to get quilted. I am sure I will get it back soon. She is a very fast quilter.
Than another quilt which I think I will not finish totally as my cat loves all quilts that have no binding on it. The quilting is already finished for a few days, but my cat never lets have it to put on the binding.
Tomorrow I am almost sure I will show a new top as my gobble gobble quilt is going really great. I think it is now 3/4 finished. Also Little red riding hood is growing fast, 3 pages finished for this month already.

This weekend I took the fabric for the oktober schnibbles with me to Nieuwkerke to cut everything, so that I could sew it when I came home. But Lutgart was so nice to let me use her sewing machine and so the top was finished on Saturday already. Now just have to see how to quilt it. It is done with two charmpacks from fig and plum and some yardage.
The Gobble Gobble quilt is also going great. Yesterday I finished the first 3 blocks.

Quilting retreat

Tomorrow I will hop in the car and go to Nieuwkerke in Belgium to this house with 20 other woman from the Netherlands and Belgium. I am sure we will have a lot of fun. I hope to show a lot on monday, hope to have cut everything for two new quilts than, that only sewing is there to do for both and off course both are miss rosies quilt co. patterns.

The new quilt will be Cindy Lou Who. I will do this one with Fig and Plum. Hope it will look good in the end, we will see I hope soon.

Than this week I have been sewing on the next BOM block. I am very late in making it, well at least for me. Hope the next one will be done sooner.

And here the other quilt I will be cutting this weekend, which is sweet escape with Gobble Gobble fabrics.

Than I am very sad to say, but it is the first time I am really late for an exchange, but life has been so busy that I haven't had time to go to the postoffice, I will put in some extra's. I hope she will like the little bag I made for her.

Monthly stitching update

This past month I have been stitching again on Little Red riding hood off course, but more about that later in this post. First I want to show a finish. It is spring from Bent Creek. It is for an exchange, but I am almost sure she doesn't read my blog. I loved stitching it very much, because it was nice to do something differest than Little riding hood. It will be finished probaly in a bag.
Than off course you are waiting for the pic of little red riding hood and here it is. 36 pages finished, so only 20 to go (LOL). When I go on like this and don't count that therea few small pages still to do, than it will be finished in 10 months, but when I count the little pages less than I think maybe it can be even finished this year, but that is very wishfull thinking of me. We will see what happens.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

working on my schnibbles

Thess past two days I have been working on Winter white (roman white) and I just finished the top. I hoped to quilt it tomorrow and do the binding, but now I have to work due to a sick colleague, so if it will be finished tomorrow I am not sure yet.

Loved doing this pattern very much. Not to much cutting going on.
And a pic of me being very happy to make it to the top of a hill/mountain (200 meters).

stashbusting report week 36

Well a good week as I busted some stash for the year of schnibbles, the pattern this month is winter white and I am using Roman holiday.
Also a package of charmpacks and yardage came in. For Somerset Cottage I already ordered yardage and as soon as the mill house inn yardage comes in I will be ordering that too. And well Astor Manor precuts arrived at the fatquartershop and I just couldn't resist that line when I saw it the first time and reserved already a fqbundle. So well this is not good for the busting, Rouenneries I am still thinking about to buy some charmpacks or not when the line will arrive. Probaly not, as that is not good for the stashbusting at all.

Fabrics, lots of fabrics

Today we got to know the first pattern in the year of schnibbles. It is Winter white and I have to say it is one I like very much and as far as I can see not a lot of cutting on it, like you have with some of the other ones. I will be doing it in Roman Holiday as I decided I already had these charmpack in my home the longest and they really needed to be used by now. I have picked some cream background fabric for the flying geese blocks as I think the blue one will not work for that. I think the blue will be the backing for the quilt and the yellow for the outside border.
Today the PO box was filled with my mail. There were charmpacks and yardage from Flourish and charmpacks from Mill house inn and Somerset cottage. Today also ordered some yardage for somerset cottage. Those charmpacks probaly won't be used till next year.
Also got some fabrics in from de stoffenkraam for the future baby of my colleague and a fabric for my niece. These will be cloths this year.

SSCS (a little help for my partner)

Well I just couldn't resist to participate again in this exchange despite the dissapointment last year with Cindy never sending me a thank you message or showing the gifts on her blog. Well that was last year and this is a new year.
Just looking forward to making something for my new partner. No ideas yet and I didn't know her blog yet, but love reading it already.
I thought let's help the person who has me a little bit and give her a little list of thinks I like:
I love traditional patterns. I love items I can use like bags, pincushions, etc. My favorite colors are not bright, but rustique. Love blue the most, but fall colors like in Gobble Gobble are also favorites of mine.

A new club

I just joined this new club . It is about schnibbles which are the little quilt patterns I just love to make. I have made two now and just am in love with them and you can even win something at the end of each month.

Just go here and sign up. You can find some of the patterns here. I have a lot of them and also a lot of charmpacks with some yardage (just ordered some more (naughty me)
Also finally started this kit. Just had problems cutting in those beautifull fq's. I have cut the background fabric so far. Hope to do some more tonight as the last days were just to warm to do anything.
