Exchange received and birthday package

Today I first had to open the door for the mailamn which brought me my redwork exchange from Myrna. She made me a beautifull pinkeep and included some beautifull goodies, you can see now that I feel very spoiled.
Than an hour later I hear the mail fell on the doorstep and there was a nice birthday package from Danielle with Britty Kitty III and Hrvest blessing in it.This morning my mother called for my husband as it is his birthday today, but he was already gone to work, but she told me she finished the quilt for their bed and here it is. Isn't it beautifull. My dad did all the cutting and my mother did do the machinesewing and handquilting on it.

Finished TrickORTreat box

Well I also worked on the FAL weekend on focus on finishing this weekend. Don't have a wordpress acount yet, so can't post it there.
I just did the last finishing on the trickortreat box and I am totally in love with it. It did cost some time, but I am happy now. The lid was the most difficult, but it looks great too. Still have to add the pumpkin, but that will have to wait a while.
Also had another finish, but can't show it as it is for the our love of needlework exchange on SBEBB. But I am sure my partner will love it. At least I hope she will.

Another DJ block

I just finished h8 and also finished this one in a row with the rest. The yellow/pumpkin one is the new one.

A few minutes ago I read the finishing for the trickortreat box and I think I will manage.

Biscornu exchange received

I just received the most beautifull biscornu from Karin . She stitched me a beautifull biscornu and she first made herself the glass button in the centre and than made the design around that and it looks simply great. Thanks very much Karin.
I also got the biscornu chart from Cat Whiskers and Dinkey Dyes and two GASTBubblegum and Punchberry and some piecemaker needles.
Later today or tomorrow I can show you the next dj block I have finished, only left to do are 3 corners.

Sorry keeping you busy

With the last post being totally stitchy, this one will be totally quilty. Today I finished dj block f8 which wasn't a very difficult one, but very nice to do. I have now 7 of my big quilt finished and I am now going to work on h8 which is a lot more difficult to do.

Also I decided I am working around the middle and I will sew the blocks together when I finished a strip or round around the middle. You will know what I mean when it grows. So here is already a little sewn together and I really like it. Only g6 and h8 to go and than I can sew the 9 together and starting the next round.

Also I wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments on my quilting and stitching lately.

This week I also decided what to do for the patterns for the Sun Bonnet calender quilt and you will see later what I decided.

3 finishes

Yesterdayevening I finished Starlight sampler from Little house needleworks. I loved stitching it every minute. Due to the exchanges you see more down this post I couldn't finish it sooner. I am thinking of now starting the stitching chair, but also doing some hours on summer snapperland.

I got the word that my redwork exchange arrived at Paulaher place yesterday. I made her a needlebook. As she is the celtic stitcher I thought of stitching her a celtic design and when I was busy I decided on 3 celtic knots.

I also got the word my Biscornu exchange arrived. I had Vonna and I didn't know, but green is her favorite color. It is stitched in DMC 502. Now I have to go and get a start on the our love of crossstitch exchange as that has to go out at the end of this month.

Well my great news of today is that I just got a phonecall from my LQS that is also a sewing store that as off monday of next week I can come and take sewing lessons with them. Already looking forward to next week a lot. It is from 7.30 pm till 9.30 pm and around a half hour drive, but I don't have worries for that.

Also today I got another great gift. It was a giftcertificate from Vicky Claton and I already spend it on silks for my stitching treasures from Jeannette Douglas and silks for Tocata number one from Drawn thread.

I just finished F6 for my DJ.

Well the applique in this one isn't perfect, but hey in a big quilt with these little blocks you won;t notice ;-)

Also I opened my birthdaypackage today as tomorrow I won;t have time with visitors all day. You can see all the fatquarters I got of 2 quiltingclubs here.

Also I got a lot of stitching stuf. But I haven't taken a picture of that.

Gift and update

Yesterday my ineternet connection was very very very bad and also the day before so I decided I could better work on some quilts to get them out the way and so here you can find my harvest time quilt finished with binding and everything. All left to do was my binding, but I couldn't find time for that and like a lot of ladies that is the less fun part of making a quilt.

Here is my progress on Little Red riding hood. I have now finished 3 and a half page. Next to stitch is Starlight sampler as I want that finished soon. Also I really have to go and finish animal shelf now. I also want to start the stitching chair which I received yesterday in the mail and I just found out I have the perfect fabric for it. Just the color they asked for I think or it is very next to perfect. I am sure the stitching won't take that long, but the finishing will take a lot of time.

I just got this beautifull fob from Carol in the mail. I just love how it looks. LOL now I will have to buy an extra pair of scissors for this.

I am very very spoiled

As some may know that read my blog earlier I have been the owner of a group that made/makes quilts to comfort sick people or people that just need a little comfort. I ended my ownership last year in fall and someone took over. I am still very happy with that decision.

Today I got a big envelope from all of them filled with stash as a thank you. I am still in shock.

I got from them Britty Kittie charts I, II and IV. Signs of summer, atumn and winter from Bent Creek and Frosty Hopes from Just Nan.

LOL with all this new stash that came in lately I really have hard decisions when I want to start something new.

About yesterdays post. A Jellyroll is 40 strips of fabric that are 2.5" wide and the full lenght of the fabric. I already have some ideas, but I also there is somewhere an american strip club for these jelly rolls, but haven't find that yet. Maybe I will do a Rail Fence block, or just all squares, really don't know yet, so all ideas are welcome.

HEAD progress

Here is my progress on Little red riding hood which is a heaven and earth design. What you see on the pic is curtains or at least the beginning of the curtains. I have done now two pages and am busy with the next two as page 3 is very boring I do it stitch by stitch and page 9 is what is going on in the left bottom corner.
For the people that askedabout the stitching chair here is the pic of it. Just heard yesterday that it is on it's way.
Tomorrow I will go to a dutch crafting market or show, not sure how to call it, the whole day and I am sure I will need the weekend to rest. So I will stitch my biscornu for the exchange and work on little red riding hood some more.

Birthday exchange for Natty and sal idea

Here is the birthday gift I made for Natty. I made her a bag with on the front Bug Collector from Jeannette Douglas and used also for this one fabrics from my stash, which are the tulip fabrics. I loved making this one for her a lot as it is my favorite designer. I did try my hand on a bit of crazy quilting for the back as that looked perfect for it.
By the way I have been a naughty girl as I ordered the stitching chair and probaly will get in in a week or two, so if anyone is up for a sal than just let me know.

Sorry it took a while

My DH came home sick from vacation with the flu and due to that I had to do everything here at home alone, so not much time behind the computer. I have been stitching a bit and have finished the birthdayexchange for the Robin's Nest. Now only finish it in a little something from fabric out of my stash. Also have to finish up the House exchange and than I can send them out next week. Now I am going to start the redwork exchange for SBEBB, I already know what to stitch and how I want to finish it. Now just finding the time to pic up the fabrics and thread and finish it.
Quilting wise: I have finished block h7 and g7 from the big dj and c3 from the pillow dj which is totally done from fabrics out of my stash. I will show pics later this week.

Now about my vacation. It was very nice to be with my family. Only if there would have been snow. There really wasn't much. We could ski and do some cross country skiing, but you get up high in the hills to do it. Most of the days I have played and walked with my little nephew. On thursday my father and nephew got sick with the flu. We decided to go home friday instead of saturday and on our way home my DH and brother became sick. So I had to drive all the way home and my DH was sitting next to me getting sicker and sicker. I have to say than a 11 hour drive is a bit to much for one person. Just called home and now my mother has the flu. I am likely to not get it as I got the flushott, but you never know. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Also on wednesday one of the colleagues of my mother that travelled with us had a little break in her scapula (I at least think it is called scapula in english), so she had to go see the doctor).
But in all I had a restfull vacation in which I did a lot of reading. I have finished Deja Death from Kathy Reichs and also a book from Elizabeth George, the last one I think with inspector lynley.

I have to go now to be with the patient. Talk to you all later.

I am back

Just to let you all know I am back from vacation since last night. I haven't done much on vacation than walking and reading and made half a DJ block.
Now it is bedtime. I am getting up to date with bloglines and hope to have a post tomorrow.

On vacation

I just wanted to let you all know that are reading my blog. No idea how many people that are that I will be away on vacation as of tonight. I will be back saturday in a week. I have prepared 14 DJ blocks and I hope to work on them, but you never know. Also packed the birthday exchange for Robin's Nest and summer snapperland.

DJ F7

I just finished piecing DJ block F7. I really love the colors of these blocks and also working on them.

Now I have to get still 5 of them prepared to bring on my holiday. Looks like thursday will be a busy day with packing the luggage and preparing the blocks and getting my stitching packed too.

By the way I saw someone mentioning that the gold ones would look great with these. Well that will be adifferent DJ as they are for a pillow with only 9 blocks.

DJ H-6 and G-8 finished

Here is a pic of a new DJ block. It is the first for the big DJ and it is somewhere in the middle of the quilt. I already know I will have the most difficulties with the round forms in this quilt. It is block H6 Pie Sale.
Also here block G8 which is called Justin's Comet. I have to say I really love this handwork. Hadn't thought it before, but am now happy that I started it.
I am now busy with the next one and it is already half way done, but now it is bedtime. So I will work on that one a bit more tomorrow and also will do some more ironing tomorrow to prepare some blocks for vacation.

Sorry, Sorry, Sorrry

Sorry now you are all thinking I will be doing another mysterie, but I meant to say that the fabrics will be for my big DJ quilt. I have been preparing 9 blocks yesterday with cutting freezer paper and today I hope to put them on the fabric. This 9 will be for my vacation next week.

DJ A-12 and fabric

Today I finished my house exchange, but can't show it till it is received. Next to start is my birthday exchange. Have decided for the chart, but stitching isn't a good option at the moment as I am still feeling horrible.

Today I worked some more on A-12 from the DJ quilt which is Framed Fancy and finished is. Love how it turned out.

Also got my fabric in for my big mysterie. Still two fabrics to come but they are on back order.

Sick

If you don't see me much posting the next couple of days it is because since tuesday I am getting sicker and sicker and now I really feel sick.

I have here a pic of my first sal tuesday and well you can see I am sick as I only did such few stitches. It is summer snapperland.
I am very busy with finish stitching the house exchange. Hope to get it maybe finished today and than I hope my DH is willing to cut some board this weekend. So that I can finish before my vacation.
Also yesterday I got my redworkexchange and I have come up with a design already and will stitch that when the house exchange is finished as it is an easy one to stitch, but looks great.

What did I finish in 2006

Here is my list:
I have finished 23 quilts, from which than more than half are big quilts. 2 DJ blocks, I had 4 sewing finishes and I have finished 34 cross stitch pieces. Which results in 63 finishes in the whole year.
Not yet finished are 4 cross stitched pieces, which are little red riding hood, nature's home afghan, colonial garden and animal shelf. And 2 quilts which are both big mysteries.
In the new year I will start nother big quilt which is the DJ and some small projects. I am sure I won;t have that much quilts finished this year as I stopped with the comfort quilts.
