Silvia's bridal sampler

I finished a-10 yesterday, maybe I will unpick it and will redo it as I am not totally satisfied. Next is block b 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 as I am abit behind and as I will be on vacation for three weeks, I should be doing b 7, 8 and 9 too and why not than 10 too, so that a new row will be finished. Now I just have to find the time to do them. I love working on sampler blocks/quilts. When I was looking at Vicky her blog I was very tempted to also do the patchworkparty 2008, but well I survived the temptation.

Question which I hope someone can help with

I am going on vacation in two weeks to the Czech Republic. We will be there for 3 weeks. One week in Kutna Horna, than one week in Praque and than one week in Trebon. The first and last week will be on the bike. Now my question is if there are any quilting or stitching store in the Czech Republic.

Another top done

I just finished the top of Cat's Paw. It was a BOM at quilthome lieselotje my local quiltshop. Only one month left in which we will get the backing and some quiltdesigns. I changed it a bit as I hate paperpiecing I changed both big blocks. One block I did almost the same, but than just another technique and one is totally different.
Now I am going to make something special for someone and than back to the 1930's quilt.

Here's to Ewe exchange received by.....

Simone just let me know she received her exchange. I stitched her the sheep of "Learn to count" from LHN, yes the same one as from which I stitched the house for Katrina's NRR. I made a little pinkeep out of it and I am very happy with how it came out.

Good mail day

Yesterday was a good mail day for me. I received two lovely gifts in the mail. The first one was a give away I won at Becky her blog. I have to say I just love it very much. I will treasure it.
Than yesterday evening the mailman came to our door to give another package. This one was from Myrna. It was the Here's to Ewe exchange. She made me a beautifull flatfold and added some beautifull goodies.
Today I also made sure Erin and Carol will also have a good mail day soon as I send the rr's from Annemarie and Katrina to Erin and the RR from Connie to Carol. Hope all will arrive safely.
I have been doing a lot of quilting and patchwork lately as I try to do an hour a day of patchwork and well I have another top finished, but pic will follow later.

I have made her a victorian sewing box. I am glad to know she likes it. Today I received a lot of mail, but that will have to wait till tomorrow for the blog.

Started a new quilt

Just wanted you guys know that I have started my new quilt wednesday and I just love it. I have finished 6 blocks now and I really like the diversity in how big the blocks are. The ones I made now are 3"x3", 6"x6", 9"x9" and 12"x12" They will come in the quilt as how they are pictured in this pic. Hope to make some more blocks tomorrow, but first I will go and finish the Here's to ewe exchange and the spring house exchange, so that they both can get in the mail next week.
Am busy stitching the garden exchange and than the birdie exchange has to be stitched, floss already organized for that one too. 3 weeks till vacation and everything has to go in the mail in the last week before my vacation.
Also found a pattern for a bag to make my new nephew/niece which also has to be finished before my vacation as my SIL is due in our vacation. I am also making him/her the bear/bee quilt, but that will be given a few weeks later.

Than the stash, well the pattern on the right I bought a few months ago and the fabbies next to it I bought ;ast week at fattquartershop, there will be following another envelope this week as it was send in two as it was to much for only one envelope. Than I will start this new quilt soon.

Tea time exchange

Today I received a beautifull exchange from Nela in Venezuela. The cup is to put your timble in and the plate for your needles. In the cup is a little magnet, so it stays together very well. It is really beautifull made.
Today I heard some bad news about a lady in our quilt round robin, she really is vanished, to friends of mine in the UK tried to get in contact, one went to her house and it was dark and neglected. She asked the neighbor and she was gone for a some time now and only checked the house now and than. Looks like we have to start two rr's over.
At the moment I am stitching on Katrina's neighborhood rr and also quilting away on my bog starquilt. The middle star is now on to do the rest. Hope to finish the quilting this year, I am doing it by hand.

Been quilting a lot

I have been working on two quilts this week. One was for my quiltingclass and that is now finished. Now I have to go and quilt it and put on some eyes. Wednesday I will get some felt for the eyes. I loved the class very much and also have learned some new techniques that I can use on other things, like an Round robin I have to work on.
Today I have been stitching on my Here's to Ewe exchange and it is finished. I really love how it ended up.
Also I have been busy with this pillow. I had two charm packs left over from the nature's trail quilt that I am doing and well I thought let's make also a pillow for it. I just love how it came out. The corners aren't perfect, but I can live with them.
Now I am going to stitch on Katrina's Round Robin which came in the mail yesterday and I already choosen the house, it will be another one than my first time I was stitching on it. Hope she doesn't mind. This time it will be an LHN design.
I have been signing up for a bit to many exchanges as a few deadlines are in my vacation, so I will have to finish a few more in April. So there will be a lot of secret stitching going on. I will also be making a little babyquilt for my new nephew/niece with the Giggles fabric from Moda I bought last weekend.

Tea time exchange

Just heard that Myrna got my tea time exchange.

Sometimes it is good to clean your sewingroom. I was storaging all my charts differently and well this design from Debbie Mum came into my hands and as we were doing an tea time exchange. I thought lets well stitch it and than go and think about how to finish. Well it became a little teabox. I still had pruple tulip fabric left from 2 years back and here is what became of it. I have to say the pic isn't perfect. I also included a pack of all kinds of tea.

Also am doing some stitching

As a lot of people asked me if I lately only do quilting I will show you I also have been stitching.

First I have done a lot on block 24 of Nature's Home afghan, but all the flowers are always a lot of work, so it is slow progress. Than Michelle's Round robin came in and I started that too as I have to send it out the 15th of this month. Lucky me is that I have all other deadlines finished. There went a box to RoseMarie and a box to .... . For Michelle I am stitching Halloween Alley or at least a part of it. Also going not really fast as Sjors, our cat, only wants to hug the whole day when I am home.

This morning I had my quiltcourse again and it was drawing and cuttingtime. Well you now can see how it will look at the end. Only one wing left at the right goose, but I didn't have enough fusible web. Lucky me is that I will be there again tomorrow, so I can pick some up to do also that last wing and than with the next lesson we will put a small band of fabric around all pieces, my fabric is a bright yellow one and it looks so great. Looking forward to doing some more on this one.

Round Robin

Yesterday I have been working on a round robin, I had to do the pieced border. I first thought about flying geese, but well that isn't my favorite thing to do and when I received this one in my mailbox I decided to the same pieced border. This was my favorite quilt so far as I love blue very much. I am very happy with the result.
For this next one I have to do an applique border which I will do with flowers and butterflies.
Than I have been busy with a quilt for my
quiltworkshop, on this piece there will be dancing geese. wednesday I have the next lesson.
I am also very busy with block 24 of NHA, so that I can start Michelle's RR very soon.

Today I got in Carol's Quilt Round Robin and well inspiration came instantly and I know what to do on it, it will be an applique round this time.

Quilt that my mother made

I have a learned my mother a few years back how to quilt and it looks like I learned her very good. Isn't it a beautifull logcabin.
6 march we are going to baste it at my LQS. She will be handquilting it.
I learned her quilting a lot through phone as we don't live close, she never followed a quiltingclass, so yes she is my perfect student.
This one comes from the magazine magic patch.

Than a few days ago I received a birthdaypackage from Carol and I wasn't feeling very well these past days I decided it was opening time. I received the kit for Mother's love needleroll from Sheperd's Bush.

Thanks to both you ladies.

Leanne's Journey of a quilter block 4

I finished the stitcherie on this one last night and I have to say I just love this quilt very much. Block 7 is already sewed, so I can work on that one next month.
Now I am back at stitching on Nature's Home Afghan block 24 if I am correct.
Our neighborhood rr had a glinch due to Lauren not sending any pieces anymore and not responding to e-mails she has two pieces in her pocession that are'nt hers Katrina's and Michelle's. Now they both have to make up another round robin and I will be getting Michelle's in two weeks and will hae to send in 3 to 4 weeks from now and the deadline falls together with my quiltingretreat, so well that will be tight. She has a halloween/harvest theme if Iam correct and that will be lovely to stitch as that is one of my favorite seasons.
Katrina's will than come around the time I need to send Michelle's to Erin and that needs to be finished the 15 of April, I am hoping than Erin won't mind if I send Annemarie's a long as the sending date for that one is in the middle of my vacation. Lucky me it is already stitched.

Horrible day

I just had a horrible day due to my hormones going crazy as it is almost that time of the month. I am stitching busyly on block 4 of Journey of a quilter and will finish tonight. I also traced all the bees and bears stitcheries, so that I can work on them the next days, but NHA also needs some stitching time, I want at least another block finished, probaly some tree.

Here is a quilt I have been making lately, now only find time to quilt. It was first for a friend, but I decided it was for me instead. I have some charmsquares left and also some yardage, so that will be probaly be used for another bigger quilt also for me.
Yesterday I bought some yardage for my strawberry lemonade quilt, I had already some charmpacks. Today I bought some charmpacks, a jellyroll and some yardage from Zaza fabric line from Moda. I already have an idea in my head for that fabric.

Here is Annemarie's Round Robin. I stitched her Bent Creeks autumn snapperland the last two pieces. I loved stitching on this one very much. I like her Round Robin very much.
Than today I also worked on A-7 from Sylivia's Bridal sampler. Loved making this block very much. This week I will be cutting for the next block probaly, but first I decided I will do the stitchery of block 4 of Journey of a Quilter. I plan to do one of those blocks a month and than in 8 months I will have all blocks done. When I have time left I will work on the BOM from my LQS and a mysterie I am still busy with. Yes I have made some plans for the coming months. This month I also have to finish a box for someone and I am busy stitching my tea time exchange which looks lovely already.
I received the chart as a gift more than 5 years ago and now saw an oppertunity to stitch it. Hope my partner will like it.

A4 finished

Today I finished the applique on Sylvia's Bridal sampler block A-4. I know there has to go another more smaller round on the red one, but well did like it this way and maybe I will stitch something as the middle. I think I only will decide in the end.
Next block to make is A-7 I will make that one tomorrow as I have a full week in front of me and I will just gladly sit on the sofa when I am home.
Annemarie's Round Robin is also finished, will make a pic tomorrow and put it than on here together with a-7.
Than I will be stitching on the tea time exchange.

Yesterday I finished block 23 of Nature's Home Afghan so I could finally make a pic of the 3 blocks I stitched already this year. Only 6 more to go from which wo are big and 4 small.
Now I am busy with Annemarie's Neighborhood Round Robin. I am stitching part of Autumn snapperland from Bent Creek on her Round Robin.
This weekend I also got fabric for a quilt I am going to make with Roman Holiday fabrics, I already had bought some charmpacks and I also bought now to fabrics with it.
From a for me new shop and well I have to say excellent service.
Also decided that the Nature Trails quilt will stay at my place. I already basted it. Now I have to go and quilt it. Pic will follow probaly when it is finished in a few weeks.
