Working on a round robin

I am very busy working on this round robin for a yahoo group. It took me awhile before deciding what to do. It came in just before I hurted my leg and I bought some fabrics for it, but wasn't satisfied at all and didn't want to work on it. Than a few weeks ago when my rr came home I got the inspiration and bought some fabbies for it. And here a pic of how it looks now. At the bottom I will add probaly also a string of green and some flowers. Do you think it need more? As I am not totally sure.
Also I am working on the spring fling round robin (quilting part) . This weekend I hope to work on Erin's rr so it can go on it's way on time. I think I have my stitching inspiration back now. I think I just stitched to much when I sat up with my leg. Didn't feel like stitching at all. This week I also got in Just nan's christmas ornament issue 2008 and well that got a lot of my stitching inspiration back. Already decided what to stitch for the christmas ornament exchange on SBEBB. Will start stitching that one soon too.

Pumpkin patch exchange

This week I received this beautifull exchange from Lisa. I love it very much. She made me a beautifull pinkeep. I also love the fiber, fabric and chart she included.
I am a bit worried about my Halloween exchange as it still hasn't arrived. Hope it will arrive soon otherwise I have already another halloween design to finish in to something.
Yesterday I went to Amsterdam to meet Yvonnewho was there together with her daughter. We met at the quiltshop Birdblocks together with Marion who we know from a dutch quilting list and also Martineanother Blogger. We had a nice chat and I also bought some fabrics, a book and some pencils. Nice afternoon and the train was working with me too. I loved the day very much.
This week also my own labels came in I got them made at Holland label Don't you love them. One big reason to order labels is that an exchange I made this year and send to the receiver. The receiver
has send on to someone else. Well I can now live with it, but this is to prevent that.
Today I also finished the Pumpkin patch exchange, so that can go on the mail tomorrow.
Now I am on to quilting on Lentekriebels again.
Speak to you all later.

Where have I been busy with

Well I have been sewing on my Spring fling round robin part 3 (which was the second border). I have send it out today. Hope the end receiver will be happy with it. I have let the middle design come back in the second border and that worked out fine and as the rest of the quilt was really hectic, the rest of the border is just plain.
Than as I already told in a few posts I am busy with my wintercloths and so I have bought some extra fabrics. You will see this being tunics/shirts soon. Now I only need a stretch denim fabric for some jeans.
Than yesterday also my order from Amazon came in. Two Jennifer Chiaverini books. I will love cooking the recipes from the book for sure.
Sticthingwise I am still waiting for my halloweenexchange to arrive. Silly me forgot to put in the goodies I bought to go with the exchange, hope my partner won't be to sad about that.
End of this week I hope to send out the pumpkin patch exchange. Only have to do a little on it and than it is ready to be send.
Also the big news is that the middle part of my big quilt Lentekriebels is finished and I am now busy with the last part of the border. Still hope to finish this month, but it will be close.
After that I surely will be busy with stitching. I hope some stitching laides are still reading my blog as the comments section is a bit silent. Well I am planning a giveaway when I have finished Lentekriebels and I am sure I will get a lot of comments than.
Also decided that for the SSCS exchange I am going to make some gifts with a jellyroll and some yardage.

Ohhh I am speechless

Here can you see what I got in the mail today. It is my round robin which I send of more than a year ago and now after going to the UK and USA it came back to me. I was worried the whole time if and how it came back and if I would like and I can see. Yes I like it very much and it is gorgeous and also huge. I like what the 4 ladies did with it and am very
happy with the result. Now it is on to me to quilt it. Just don't know how yet.
Now I am on to finish Carol's Round Robin, I got some perfect inspiration from this one and also this night in bed I got the perfect idea.

The first

This morning early I went to the fabric store, it was already around 9 in the morning, so yes I call that early. My DH had to leave early due to a day out with his work in Friesland. He had to be there around 10 and lucky he had to drive onlyfor 1 and a half hour, his other colleagues had to go a lot longer. They were going to sail, than walk on the land that falls dry when it is low water. I was already awake around 6.30 this morning and couldn't sleep anymore. So I was up even before my DH. Than I did the groceries and after that I went to this store which is also where I have my sewing classes and is also a quilting store around a 20 minute drive from here. I had a nice chat with the owner as I also went there to say that I won't return for sewing class as I just don't have the energy at the moment. Hennie was sad to see me go, but totally understood. I also had to buy some fabric to make pants, I came home with two fabrics for pants, both black, fabric for a tunic and fabrics to make diaper hangers and well that is the title about the first one is ready. It was sewed in I think in a little longer than one hour. Loved making it. It will go to a future baby or one that was born not so long ago. Hope my friends will like them.
Now I have to go and quilt some more on Lentekriebels, because I made good progress on that one and well I would love to have that one finished this month.
Halloween exchange was finished and send off this week too and loved how it came out.

quiltweekend

Some more about the weekend.
First we had a bee in Poperinge with around 17 girls if I am correct. I have been working on Journey of a quilter there, as soon as my halloween exchange and pumpkin patch exchange are finished I will work again on that one.
Than we went to Westouter for the quiltingretreat and we had so much fun. The weather wasn't always great, but well saturday it was great weather. Here is a picture of the girls that were on the quiltingretreat. Philip our cook was a bit drunk or at least it looks like that when he took this pic.
Than all the presents I received this weekend. The week before the retreat I posted the 30.000 message on a yahoo group and all the moderators/owners gave me a fq. Than we on saturday we had a number under our seat that matched a gift on table and that is the winterfabric package. And from one of the girls we got two gifts, one is a tissueholder and the other one some sort of bag. And than the thing in the right bottom that was a gift I received sundaymorning at breakfast it is a little sewing pocket. Here you see me, Shirley and Sabine working on the quilt.

Than in February I asked a dutch group how this pattern was made you see in the pic below and we found out. Yvonne made one and called it Judith's challenge, so well after some teasing on the dutch quiltretreat in March I said that should be mine as it has my name on it. Than we made the deal I would make one for her and would be finished in september. Due to circumstances that didn't work ou on time, but well she did give me the quilt already.
In the pic you see both of them. Now I made an agreement with Yvonne that I will visit her in December to give it to her. In the pic beneath you see that first try for a quilting pattern I drawed to quilt by sewing machine. I like it very much, just have to make it a little bigger. It is a christmas flower (or well at least it should look like that).

A finish

I am just back from the quiltingretreat in Westouter and we had so much fun. We also had to make a little challenge quilt. We all got the same fabrics and had to make a quilt that shouldn't be bigger than 25 cm. Here is mine.In the weekend we worked on our own projects. I mainely have worked on Lentekriebels.
Also with the whole group or almost the whole group we worked on a quilt for a aunt of one of the ladies that is a nun. I helped to do the binding.

Here is a finish I can finally show.

Here in veurne

Before I went on vacation I received this beautifull halloween exchange from Edgar. I wasn't expecting anything yet as the deadline was the 10th of october. So it was a very nice surprise.

Here I am in Belgium and having the time of my life. Yesterday was a very long drive as trafic around Amsterdam was dramatic, I did an hour over 14 km and well that is a bit long. Till I arrived at the Belgium border I couldn't go harder than 100 km's per hour. Lucky me I had a stop at Ingrid to pick up some lugage from her so that she can ride with Marjon to Westouter tomorrow. I was around 16.00 in Veurne and I have to say it is a beautifull Bed and breakfast. There is even a fireplace in the room. I am sure John and me will also come here someday with the two of us.
Last night I first finished reading the winding ways quilt from Jennifer chiaverini and loved it every page, but I have to say I loved the other books she wrote better. Than I started stitching on block 1 of Journey of a quilter and you can see here a progress pic.
Today I went first into Veurne to see the city and I have to say it is beautifull. Nice old buildings and such. Also there is a fabric store, needed some things to finish a few exchanges and lucky me they had the right ribbon. Than I went in the bookstore and found a new one from Elizabeth George, Careless in red. I already started it while drinking some in a cafe and later with Lunch. Probaly will read some more tonight. I have to say the first pages are already very catching.

Will be gone

Just wanted to let everybody know that I will be away till next mondayevening. I will be in Belgium with a lot of other ladies and I am sure I will have fun. Hope thursday is a little dryer than today so I can walk at the beach which I just love to do and hope to visit this store .
Than on friday Inge , Guute, Katrien, Shirley and Yvonne will be at the bee at Poperinge and after the quiltingretreat will begin. Don't know for sure if more of the ladies have a blog or maybe I have forgotten one or two.
I will bring my laptop, but if I have internet I am not sure.

A little busy bee I have been

Today I have been sewing this tunic. I love making it very much. It is simplicity 3697 few B. It was easy and nice to sew and also learned some new things. The pics aren't the best, but well I can live with them. I will surely sew some more from this one in other colors.

It arrived

Well just heard my bag arrived. And Anna likes it a lot, also the fabrics I send with it. When you go to her blog you also see the back side of the bag, which is different and that it also is quilted. Even got a nice comment from her mother.

frustration

I had a lot of frustration today with working on the spring fling round robin first border (round 2). First I mniss calculated how big the blocks had to be. That is when I started to hate myself. Than I thought looks like it is going to be a bit to big, well I forgot to count the border two times, so well I had to change something and lucky me that was easy to do.
So here is the sneak peak. LOL not a lot to see there.

Bag swap

The mailman was just at my doorstep to give me a package from Tami . I love the bag very much and will treasure it. Thanks so much Tami.
For the rest I am quilting like crazy on Lentekriebels and well I am half way now. My DH he is in Frankfurt (D) for 2 days and so I have all the time in the world to quilt. Tomorrow I first have to finish the spring fling round robin as sunday is the day to send it, well that will be monday. Just had problems to decide what to do with the lovely center.

Stoned

Sundayevening I was quilting on Lentekriebels and yes having a 2.50 meter square quilt on your lap is hot, but well it is getting hotter and hotter.
And even more hot when a 8 kilo warm cat also decides he wants to be under it and on your lap LOL. Yes quilting was now a bit hard and this pic I made while lifting up the quilt. Doesn't he looks stoned too.LOentekriebels is going great. I have now almost 1 and a half side quilted and 8 of the 20 little stars quilted and off course the big star in the middle. Yes when I keep up this way it will be done this year. Just have to not let the cat beneath it.

And another finish

Not the best picture, but the bag exchange is finished. After the first terrible try, lucky to know what went wrong. The second time looks great. Colors are a bit warmer in real life. I like how it came out and it will go in the mail soon.

Today I started the halloween exchange and am just loving stitching the design I choosen. Also this next weekend/week I will be working on the spring fling round robin round 2. Now just have to figure out what to do.

A round robin finish

Well first of all I waited much to long before starting stitching on this one. Due date is the 15th, so it is a close one. Now explination of the part I stitched. Cathy asked us to try to include something from your province/country. Well there came the hard time deciding what to stitch. I decided there had to be an harbor as Hoorn has one, but well than my square wasn't filled at all. So I decided to ad some cabbage (green and red) as that is on the fields in West-Friesland in winter days when the tulips are gone. I could have stitched tulips too, but I couldn't find the proper tulip design. Hope Cathy likes it.

I am still busy with the bag exchange as what I made fisrt really was dramatic and I have started over, but needed some matching quilting thread. Have ot now and I am going to work on it tomorrow and soon as it is finished tomorrow it will go in the mail.

Little red riding hood

Here is LRRH after I finished 24 pages and 3 rows of pages. Now on to the next row. Tomorrow I will go looking for a design to put on Cathy's round robin, a design for the pumpkin patch exchange and the halloween exchange or maybe even already tonight. Hope in an hour to go upstairs to sew for an hour on my bag exchange.

Busy, busy

This past week I have been doing a lot of sewing on the 3x3=9 mysterie and it will be lovely when finished. It consists of 12 parts and I have now almost finished the 4th part, a lot of cutting was involved in the parts I have done so far. I also made a mistake in the cutting and lucky me, I had enough fabric left.
I have also been stitching like crazy on Little red riding hood and the next two pages are almost finished. Only 10 more rows to go.
Today I started the bag/bucket exchange and I am still happy with the design I have planned in my head. Hope it will look as good in real.
Than this week I got the center in of the spring fling round robin and also already the second round. For the first border, I still have to think a bit about. I am still not totally sure what to do with it. For the one I have to add the second border too I am totally sure what to do.
Pic is of our house and probaly the last pic of the tree in front of our home as they decided to remove all the trees from our street. Will I miss it, probaly a bit.

Top finished

Yesterdayevening I finished this quilttop, but maybe I will put an extra border around it (black probaly). I will look the next days to it to see if I will do it or not. If anyone has good ideas just let me know.

Next to do is make the bag for the bagexchange and I have a good idea for it. Somehow I got a lot of great ideas in my had the past days, yes that new sewingroom is getting me crazy LOL. I even got thinking I have to work on a BOM I started two years ago again. I had a great idea to work every day, maybe week on another project to get some work on all those big quilts. Also have to trace stitcheries for the Leanne's house BOM will take them also with me to the belgian quilting retreat. Don't want to take my sewingmachine with me.

A compliment and a new block

Today I got a nice compliment from my colleagues when I wore this shirt I bought a dark brown top beneath it and it looks really great. Am very happy with it. Hope to make some more cloths the coming weeks. But first I am working on a few quilts. Yesterday I finished the Wetsouter quiltchallenge and it looks really great. I love the result. Pic won't be viewable till after the quiltingretreat. That was my morning sewing session, not my normal sewing session, but I was off yesterday.
Than in the afternoon/early eveningI have worked on the christmas wave to make another border on it. I try to sew at least a half hour a day and I was surprised what I already can do in a half hour. Another border is added,, only two moro to go.
Than I suddenly realized that I haven't showed you the last 1930's block I have made. Love it very much. This weekend I will make another one and I also wanted to prepare the appliqueblocks to take them with me to the quilting retreat, but that will happen the coming weeks.

My sewingroom is ready

This past months we have been changing my sewingroom and today my DH finally finished the last thing which was the table.
A pic taken from the table
Taken from the window in the boxes on the right side there are all my floss, DMC and others
In the boxes the closest to the table are all my clothing make things and sewng threads. Than a row of boxes that I still have to sort out.
Few to the window.
My table with above the picture is from my own horse and her daughter, I had her 10 years and she died 10 years ago.
The 2 rows of boxes that are the closest to the walls are al my quiltingsupplies and the row next to it are the stitchingsupplies like fabric, charts and floss that is not organized yet in the boxes. Yes I still need some organizing to do.
On top of the boxes are all my works in progress quilting wise and some stitching fabrics.

Doesn't it look colorfull.

planned a weekend away

I got an invite to come to the begian quiltretreat for the second time and as I have off from wednesday till wednesday I decided to make it a long weekend. I will sleep from 1 till 3 october in this B&B and also the sundaynight after the weekend I will sleep there. Will take some books and off course something to quilt with me and I already know what it will be as I want to have it finished. Especially with my leg I have to get some much needed rest.
Today I finished page 22 of Little red riding hood, but won't make a pic till the next two page, when row 3 of pages is finished. Now I will go and do some sewing. I still need to finish the challenge for the quiltretreat, but that I may not show till after that weekend. I want to work on the 1930 quilt and also want to have the wavequilt ready before that same weekend to show and than the bag for the Bag exchange on Linda's blog. You see I am just to busy.
I know I am not much around at the moment, but I am just very tired at the moment. Vacation is near, only 6 more workdays and than I will be having 2 and a half weeks off, really need that.
