Quilting retreat

Tomorrow I will hop in the car and go to Nieuwkerke in Belgium to this house with 20 other woman from the Netherlands and Belgium. I am sure we will have a lot of fun. I hope to show a lot on monday, hope to have cut everything for two new quilts than, that only sewing is there to do for both and off course both are miss rosies quilt co. patterns.

The new quilt will be Cindy Lou Who. I will do this one with Fig and Plum. Hope it will look good in the end, we will see I hope soon.

Than this week I have been sewing on the next BOM block. I am very late in making it, well at least for me. Hope the next one will be done sooner.

And here the other quilt I will be cutting this weekend, which is sweet escape with Gobble Gobble fabrics.

Than I am very sad to say, but it is the first time I am really late for an exchange, but life has been so busy that I haven't had time to go to the postoffice, I will put in some extra's. I hope she will like the little bag I made for her.

There came some yardage in from Mill house inn and some patterns from miss rosie (schnibbles). Also I made an exchange which used some yardage from my stash. I had hoped to do the bom block and the binding on my snowballs and ninepatches quilt, but I still have to do some quilting on it.

stashrepot week 38

Well not a great week at all as I only received stash and didn't bust anything. Astor Manor came in during my vacation and yardage for the somerset charmpacks and saturday BOM block 4 arrived. Hope to make that one today, so that will be a bust for next week and also I have to use some fabbies for the exchange I mentioned in my last post.
If I am a brave girls this week my last order for the year will come in and than only the bom blocks will arrive. Hope I will be a good girl.

Monthly stitching update

This past month I have been stitching again on Little Red riding hood off course, but more about that later in this post. First I want to show a finish. It is spring from Bent Creek. It is for an exchange, but I am almost sure she doesn't read my blog. I loved stitching it very much, because it was nice to do something differest than Little riding hood. It will be finished probaly in a bag.

Than off course you are waiting for the pic of little red riding hood and here it is. 36 pages finished, so only 20 to go (LOL). When I go on like this and don't count that therea few small pages still to do, than it will be finished in 10 months, but when I count the little pages less than I think maybe it can be even finished this year, but that is very wishfull thinking of me. We will see what happens.

Thess past two days I have been working on Winter white (roman white) and I just finished the top. I hoped to quilt it tomorrow and do the binding, but now I have to work due to a sick colleague, so if it will be finished tomorrow I am not sure yet.

Loved doing this pattern very much. Not to much cutting going on.

Well a good week as I busted some stash for the year of schnibbles, the pattern this month is winter white and I am using Roman holiday.
Also a package of charmpacks and yardage came in. For Somerset Cottage I already ordered yardage and as soon as the mill house inn yardage comes in I will be ordering that too. And well Astor Manor precuts arrived at the fatquartershop and I just couldn't resist that line when I saw it the first time and reserved already a fqbundle. So well this is not good for the busting, Rouenneries I am still thinking about to buy some charmpacks or not when the line will arrive. Probaly not, as that is not good for the stashbusting at all.

Fabrics, lots of fabrics

Today we got to know the first pattern in the year of schnibbles. It is Winter white and I have to say it is one I like very much and as far as I can see not a lot of cutting on it, like you have with some of the other ones. I will be doing it in Roman Holiday as I decided I already had these charmpack in my home the longest and they really needed to be used by now. I have picked some cream background fabric for the flying geese blocks as I think the blue one will not work for that. I think the blue will be the backing for the quilt and the yellow for the outside border.
Today the PO box was filled with my mail. There were charmpacks and yardage from Flourish and charmpacks from Mill house inn and Somerset cottage. Today also ordered some yardage for somerset cottage. Those charmpacks probaly won't be used till next year.
Also got some fabrics in from de stoffenkraam for the future baby of my colleague and a fabric for my niece. These will be cloths this year.

SSCS (a little help for my partner)

Well I just couldn't resist to participate again in this exchange despite the dissapointment last year with Cindy never sending me a thank you message or showing the gifts on her blog. Well that was last year and this is a new year.

Just looking forward to making something for my new partner. No ideas yet and I didn't know her blog yet, but love reading it already.

I thought let's help the person who has me a little bit and give her a little list of thinks I like:

I love traditional patterns. I love items I can use like bags, pincushions, etc. My favorite colors are not bright, but rustique. Love blue the most, but fall colors like in Gobble Gobble are also favorites of mine.

Well it was a good and a bad week. I busted a lot, but there came also in a lot. But still more busted than added in total.

I have busted some extra zaza fabric to add to the giveaway and also started my 40T quilt, which uses a fqtower.

Than added was layercakes of gobble gobble and some background fabric.

Added and busted were the new block of the mysterie designer BOM.

A new club

I just joined this new club . It is about schnibbles which are the little quilt patterns I just love to make. I have made two now and just am in love with them and you can even win something at the end of each month.

Also finally started this kit. Just had problems cutting in those beautifull fq's. I have cut the background fabric so far. Hope to do some more tonight as the last days were just to warm to do anything.

Ja, ik heb niet echt stil gezeten de afgelopen weken. Ik heb veel geborduurd aan roodkapje en heb weer 2 pagina's af sinds de foto een maand geleden.Yeah I haven't sit still these past week. I have been stitching on Little red riding hood a lot and I have finished another 2 pages since the last pic a month ago.

Deze laatste week heb ik aan de mysterie designer bom gewerkt en een groot deel van de finishing kit is al klaar en ook het derde blok wat vandaag in de postbus zat is klaar.

This past week I have been working on the mysterie designer BOM and today I got block 3 in the mail and it is finished already.

Stashbusting report week 33

Yes I have been busting again. I started the finishing kit for the mysterie desiner bom and I am going very fast with it. Hope to have some sewing time again this coming week as the last 3 days were very busy with other things. Today I will just rest a bit.
Nothing came in, but I have a few orders coming in. 20 half yards in white and cream for some quilt I need some backgrounds for and I don't have any background fabric at all at the moment. So probaly will use them soon. Than an order for gobble gobble (2 layercakes and a bit of yardage for a miss rosie pattern). And block 3 of the mysterie designer bom. But lucky me that still all has to come in. But when I will have a bust also this week I will have still used more than came in and I have a bust in mind.

stashbusting report week 32

Than the report. Well it is a very good one for me. I have used a backing, 2 bindings and two jellyrolls. One jellyroll for the give away and one as a present for my mother's birthday. That is 13 meters in total. Not bad at all and another big bust is going to happen next week, but I have a big problem as Gobble Gobble is really tempting me to buy it. I am not sure if I can keep it in the store for much longer.

A finish and a round robin back home

First let me remind you to not forget the giveaway in the last post. Still more than enough time to sign up for it. You can do so much with a jelly roll.

Than next I have finished my romantic strip quilt tuesday. I finally decided on how to quilt it. I have done it in a circle pattern and it is made by using a jelly roll from Harvest Home and a bit of yardage.

I love how it looks very much and am a very happy person, but that is also due to me getting back my spring fling round robin finished. The centerwas made by me, the first border by Chelsea, the second border by Trish and the quilting is done by Tami. Thank you girls it is beautifull.

Top finished

Vandaag heb ik deze top afgekregen. Hij bestaat uit 117 blokjes, 58 snowballs en 59 ninepatches. Ik heb niet genoeg stof voor een rand er langs, dus het moet hem zo maar worden. Ben zeer tevreden. Zodra de vulling binnen is ga ik hem sandwichen en quilten.

Today I finished this top. It has a total of 117 blocks in it. 58 snowballs and 59 ninepatches. I don't have enough fabric for a border, so it will stay like this. As soon as the batting comes in this week I will sandwich and quilt it.

Newest finish

Ik heb deze van de week afgemaakt, hij lag inmiddels al sinds voor de vakantie op de bies te wachten en van de week heb ik dat dan ook gedaan. Ik heb hem helemaal (inclusief de achterkant) van 1 charmpack en iets van een halve meter extra stof, voor lichte stroken en bies, gemaakt. Vandaag ook nog mijn doel gehaald en alle 59 snowball blokken gemaakt voor een andere quilt met nature's chorus stoffen, maardan van een jellyroll en 2 charmpacks.Morgen hopelijk alle ninepatches en dan de top in elkaar zetten.

I finished this one already tuesday evening, but just didn't have time to take a pic. I have made this one from one charmpack (inclusive the back) and a bit of yardage not more than half a meter. Also made my goal today as I finished the 59 snowball blocks for another quilt, now only 58 ninepatches to go. More later.

Finished some cloths

Druk bezig geweest het weekend met een nieuw setje voor de toekomstige baby van een collegaatje. Het is Dwergenverpakking van farbenmix en makkelijk om te maken met een leuk resultaat. Misschien dat ik het zachte broekje van het patroon ook nog maak. Ik heb nog een fuchsia met witte stippen bijpassend aan de tricot van het shirt. Eventjes kijken nog. Ik denk dat ik eerst weer even aan een quilt ga werken. Wil er deze week eigenlijk nog 1 af hebben waar ik alleen het biesje nog van moet doen.

I have been busy sewing cloths this past weekend and just finished the last part. It is from farbenmix, the Zwergencollection. Easy to do with a very nice result. Now I want to work on a quilt which only needs the binding to be done and as it is a very little quilt it will be done soon.

Block 2 finished

Vandaag lag het tweede blok van de mysterie designer bom 2009 in de postbus, helaas moest ik wachten tot John met de envelop thuis kwam Gelukkig was hij niet al te laat thuis voor zijn doen. Na het eten gelijk begonnen en nu is het blok al klaar. Goede beschrijving en erg leuk om te doen. Nu alleen heb ik moeilijkheden om te beslissen wat ik ga doen

A: Gelijk de finishing kit beginnen zodat ik over 10 maanden bijna gelijk klaar ben, want ik kan dan de blokken er telkens tussen zetten als ze binnen komen.

B wachten tot het eind dus over 10 maanden en dan maar hopen dat ik er gelijk aan ga beginnen en dan zal het toch nog wel een paar weken duren eer hij daarna af is.

Wat vinden jullie?

Today I got the second block in the mail from the Mysterie designer BOM 2009 and I just had to make it right away. I just love the block. Now I am trying to decide to

A: start already the finishing kit so that I will have it finished right away when in 10 months I will receive the last month and can join the blocks as they come in and probaly this way it will surely be finished

B: Start the finishing kit when I have received the last block in 10 months and it will take another month to have it finished and I have to feel like doing it.

A finished set and Little red riding hood update

De laatste dagen ben ik druk bezig geweest met de Lore van Farbenmix. Ik vond hem erg leuk om te maken en ben erg blij met het resultaat. Morgen doe ik hem denk ik op de bus naar mijn broer, want dan kan Anouk hem nog op de vakantie aan.

These past days I have been working on the Lore from Farbenmix. It is for my little niece and I will probaly put it in the mail tomorrow as they will be leaving on vacation next week and she can wear it than.

Ook maar weer eens een update van roodkapje. Ze schiet heerlijk op, 3/4 is in zicht nu. Ik heb nu geloof ik iets van 31 pagina's af nu, dus nog 25 te gaan.

Also an update of Little red riding hood. I have now 31 pages finished probaly of the 56, so now I am on the road for the 3/4 mark.

Vanavond heb ik blok L3 van de SBS quilt in elkaar gezet. Leuk blok, niet al te moeilijk.

Tonight I sewed a new block of the SBS quilt. It is block L3.

Stashbusting report week 29

It was a not so bad week this week. I used 1 meter of fabric for the backing of Good fortune, which is now at my mothers place to get quilted by hand.
But I also was a bad girl as yesterday my mother and me where at this store and well Dorry has that cute bag "Lellebel" which is also on the first page of her website and I just have to make it. Just read the instructions and hope I can manage it. I needed 2.25 meter fpr the bag and as I loved the yellow/red fabrics a lot I bought them and will make it from that fabrics. The red dot one will be the outside and the yellow one the inside and the roll will be the "Lellen". Hope to start it very soon, maybe even this week already.

I had problems getting Silvia's Bridal sampler from Amazon UK and gave up after something like 8 weeks of getting new shiiping dates, it wasn't paid yet, so I cancelled the order and decided to wait a while till I found it in a shop and when I was at Dorry's place yesterday I saw it and decided to buy it right away. Will work on SBS soon again.

Top finished and finished a shirt for myself

Yesterday I finished the top of Good Fortune, which is a schnibble, also doubled it already. Now just to decide to let my mother quilt it by hand or me by machine.

Saturday I picked up my new locker at my parents (Huskylock S15) and yesterday I started my first project and I am very happy with it. I see I didn't dress myself up properly in my neck. It is the Svea from farbenmix.

Well not a very good week as a fattquarterbundle from Roses the noel came in, the finishing kit and backing for the mysterie designer BOM 2009 and the first block. So that was not good at all, but well for the coming weeks nothing will come in as I haven't punched any buttons and won't push them for a while. I already made the first block of the BOM and probaly next week will the second block come in. Also next week I have a backing to bust as Good Fortune is almost done and hope to have it done today.
And than I have to decided to start a new quilt or work a bit on one of the oldies

Progress..

on my quilts. A pic of Good Fortune so far. I just love sewing Carrie her patterns. They are very clear and easy to follow. Those two little stars were sewn so fast. Hope to do some more stars tonight. After this one is finished I think I will start one of her bigger ones, maybe 40 T.

Also a pic of the first BOM block of the mysterie designer BOM. Just love seeing these big blocks (12") but I know I am better in the little ones as the little stars are near to perfect, the big ones aren't.

Than everyone in blogland shows the first quilt they have made and for me it is the poppie one you see here. I would never say to anyone to do this as a first quilt, but I survived.

Already a few days back from vacation...

but I was a bit to tires to post anything. Life is back to the normal. Sunday at 3 in the afternoon we were back at home and monday work started again. So I was busy busy busy and just to tired to do a lot when I came home. Yesterday got a phonecall from my mother that they have my new overlocker from Husqvarna. I am thinking of picking it up on saturday so in the weekend I can do a bit of practise on it. I look really forward to that.

The PO box had some nice packages in it for me from the fatquartershop and I just had to roll in my new stash on monday. I already have sewn the first block of the designer mysterie BOM and I have to say great instructions. Next for me to finish is the spring fling round robin and than I will finish a little schnibble I am working on and want to have finished so I can go and quilt it. I am thinking of putting my machine in quiltingmode soon as I want to finish a few quilts including my big romantic strip quilt. Have to get that WIP/UFO count get down a lot.

No finish at all

I was just thinking about it and just realised that I didn't have any finish at all, but I have two almost ready, they will be ready next week for sure as there is only a bit of binding left to do on it.

Also got some good news from my mother, she got a very good offer for a new sewing machine and she asked also for a overlocker for me and got a great deal, so you know what I will be doing after the vacation. Yeah you are right sewing a lot of cloths. I am sure my brother and SIL will be happy with th cloths I have planned for my niece.

Hope I spelled the cat's name right. These are the dog and cat at this bed and breakfast and we have been adopted by them. osquito loves fruits and is on the pictures eating some pruims.

Here are some pictures of where I am hiding for the big pile of stash coming in these weeks LOL. The weather is 37 celsius (100 fahrenheit), but with a pool around the corner we don't have a problem with that. Tonight we will have a nice bbq. Under the 3 in the third picture I am making this post.
