I just did the last stitch on "It's summertime" and does it look great or what? I have quilted around the dresden plate, the airoplanes, the boats and the windmills, all in the ditch.
Tomorrow will be stitching day as now my shoulders hurt from all that quilting.

Summertimequilt

My summertimequilt is going great. The top is ready and I am busy quilting it. Pics will follow as soon as the quilt is finished. I can say it looks great. I am totally in love.

It's summertime quil

I thought as I will be having paperpierce workshop tomorrow, let's work on it's summertime, so I have completed some more windmills and just wanted to know how it looked.

Next to do is paperpierce some airoplanes (6 of them and on every part there will be a airoplane with also air triangles besides it and on top also an air fabric triangle and when all six parts are sewed together there will be appliqued an dresden plate in the middle and some folded triangles at the outer sides. I love working on it again and am even thinking of working on it some more and get it finished this year, well let's say it is just thinking at the moment ;-)

Workshop also in english

I didn;t get questions about it, but I have done my best to translate the workshop to english, you still can find it here

I designed some cloths

Yeah tonight I designed some new cloths as it is decided that the snowman/doll will go to my colleague as she has become a grandma. I hope her little granddaughter will like it. She will be getting also the brown cloths with it. My DH found her to nude, so I designed also a thing for her neck (sorry can't come up with how it is called in english, but she can also use it around her taille.
Today I also heard that the colleague that is pregnant is in our hospital as her bloddpressure was way to high, now she can watch us all day as her window looks down on our workplace, so we can wave to her.
Yesterday I also finished block 25 of NHA, pic will follow later.

A bit sick

I have a very upset stomach at the moment. It started last night and still have problems with it.

I had a very productive weekend, but I can show you only block 19 of nature's home afghan as the rest is all secret.
This weekend I also ordered the software for the DJ, so I can start that quilt in a few months, first I want to finish some others. My friend Jacqueline called me today to ask if I would like to go to a workshop paperpiercing with her and I agreed. I know I do it already in some quilts, but it is always nice to learn some tricks to do a better job on it. So saturday will be filled with fun with Jacqueline.
Now to answer the SBQ of this week:
How many different brands of "complete" embroidery floss sets do youown? How do you keep track of it? (i.e., spread sheet program, indexcards, palm pilot, etc.)
I have a complete set of DMC and GAST and I have a lot of other specialty flosses, but they aren't complete. I also think GAST is not totally complete, but I only miss like 10 colors.
Now it is time to go downstairs again as I am still feeling not good at all. Positive thing is that my book is going fast.

Exchanges are keeping me busy

I just finished the finishing on my stocking stuffer exchange last night and it looks great, just can't share any pics till it is received. It will go in the mail this week.
Also I finished the stitching on a little surprise gift for someone.
Than today I will start the stitching for the ornament exchange on SBEBB, I finally found the right ornament and it looks not so intrique as my stocking stuffer exchange looked and it is from a designer I haven't stitched from yet.
So you all now I am very busy, just not noticeable.

Edited later this day: I just finished the ornament exchange too and it looks really great.

What tarot card is me

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

A Finish

I just finished another snowman. I had a workshop for making it last year around this time and I just wanted to make some more, but time was to little to make them and now I find lots of time due to stopping troostquilts.
Maybe it will be a gift for someone, maybe I will keep it myself. When it is gift, someone will find it on her/his doorstep soon. I just have to draw the face. I did it totally by sewing machine also making the button holes and attaching the buttons. Here is the first one I made. I have still lots of fabric to make some more and I think I will make them as the are easy and cute to make.
Now I have to go downstairs again to get moving on my stitching as I am making something for a friend that has to be finished soon.

All secret

I am just stitching and sewing secret things. LOL so not much showing. I am also stitching block 19 of NHA which I stopped somewhere in march. I had a goal of getting the whole afghan finished this year, but with only 7 more weeks and a lot of exchanges I am in, that won't be happening.
Now I wanted to show some pics of the retreat.

Back from retreat

I got back from the retreat late last night and didn;t do much when I got home than sleep. This morning I worked half a day and this afternoon I have finished the bag we made on the retreat. I didn;t bring buttons with me and so I had to do them still the rest f the bag was already finished saturday evening. I was the first to finish, so yesterday I helped everyone with their bags and it just felt like I was the teacher :-) So here is my bag.

Also saw the message that Jenna got the scissorfob exchange. It took a long time to arrive. I also finished the stitching for the stocking stuffer exchange and also decided how to finish.

Now I am going to read everyones blog that is updated.

SBQ

I just got a pic of her finished christmas trees. Aren't they beautifull.

How did you decide on the title of your stitching blog? Was it random,or does it have a special meaning to you or about you?

A lot of people have asked me that already. As some already have found out I am a quick stitch and Nancy and some ohers start calling me smokey (due to my smoking needles). Eventually Nancy called me smokey dutchess to refer to my dutch heritage, but I have shortened it to Smokey from the Netherlands. And than next I first had judiromi, that is a simple one and my brother has come up with it as I got my first internetconnection from him. My full name is Judith Romijn and so you leave out the last two letters from both and put them together and have judiromi.

Now it is time to get away behind the computer as this evevning I am going on my quiltretreat and I still have to clean the house, do groceries and pack my bag.

finished take time to quilt spring

I finished the sitching last night and would have loved to put on the beads today, but I just can't find them and at least to stashlist I have them in my stash, now I am wondering where LOL.

It is stitched on cream cashel, but it looks grey on the pic.

Today my scissorfob exchange from Ish landed on my doorstep and she made a cute little fob. It is stitchex over one and really, really small, it is not even a inch square. Also got some beautyfull fabrics from her. Thanks Ish, I love verything.
