Here is the back..

When I have put on the binding I will show the front, but now just the back, so that you can see the quilting.

Two finishes from my mother

Well one is also from me as I did do a part of the sewing and the quilting. My mother did do the binding this week.

Here is the quilt for my nephew which he will received saturday when we visit my brother. I just love how it came out.

And here is the Rosesquilt from my mother. I bought the kit for her in France, it was a pattern that has also been published in the Magic Patch. It is even more beautifull in real life. The wall you see behind it I have painted when they moved. It hangs in their bedroom.

I am now busy quilting, so maybe a nother pic of a finish tonight. Also went to the LQS and LNS today and bought fabric to finish the seasonal house exchange on SBEBB and for something I am going to add to the summer exchange on a dutch yahoo list. Those pics will come after they are received.

Today I received block 9 of "Journey of a quilter" from Honeysucklecottage . There is still a package on it's way from them with block 1,2,3 and 5, but I am guessing that took a slow boat as it was send the 15th of May and still no sign of it. Not worried yet as a package that took the longest took more than 2 months, so after the 15th of July I am starting to get worried. Still I love their service. I now have to only piece together blocks 8 and 9 and will do that the coming weeks.

Also I have finished 1/3 of the next page of Little Red Riding Hood, which is a HEAD design as someone asked, and so it is going fast and I only stitched with two colors so far. Probaly a pic will follow at the end of the weekend, beginning of next week.

Also decided on my next BOM, it will be from Quilthuis Lieselotje my local LQS, she will have a BOM with catfabrics, very adorable and I saw both color variations today and they are both beautifull. Will be a hard decision, but I like the autumn colors a bit more, but we will see which one it will be.

Little red riding hood progress

This will be a short post as I have to much on my head at the moment. This is the first 6 pages of Little red riding hood. I will now start the next page, but first will go and stitch/finish some exchanges and also want to go and quilt the Folkloridge quilt. Got an idea from a blog and I am itching to get started on that one, maybe tomorrow, depends on how late I will get out of bed. The whole week I felt tired and well yesterday I came out of bed 11.33 am. Got more than 12 hours sleep, well looks I needed that.

Garden Themed exchange received...

by Carol and I am glad she loves it. I have stitched her Take time to Garden from Jeannette Douglas designs and finished it into a pinkeep.

I love how it came out and as Jeannette is my favorite designer I also loved stitching it. This is the design through which I found the beads for take time to quilt spring, but still have to do the beading on that one.

Suitcases are packed, bike is ready to be put onto the car and I am off for a nice long weekend with my mother. Will see you all monday.

Busy preparing for next weekend.

Next weekend I will go on a trip together with my mother, to the most southly point of Limburg. I want to take a lot of handstuff with me as it is also a little quilting retreat with the two of us.

I am now busy sewing together the 3 Journey of a Quilter blocks I have. Here is block 4, stitcherie already traced and ready to pack and take with me. I will also give my mother some applique lessons as we haven't done that yet since I learned her quilt a year ago.
Now on to sew together block 7 and 8. Hope to have them all ready to do the stitchery. Also have prepared a few DJ blocks. Now we just will se how much I get accomplished that weekend as we also take the bikes with us, to do some nice routes there too.

A new little quilt

When I saw this block hanging in my LNS I fell in love with Leanne her quilts. But I decided to make journey of a quilter and not this one, but had another idea for just this block. I will finish it into a little wallhanging to hang in summer in my house. Here is my version

as you can see real summer colors. I am totally in love with it. Now on to the quilting. Just "Zomer" looks a bit strange, it is done by machine.

Now I am going downstairs to work on Little red riding hood as it is to warm to be very busy. At least we have sun now as the first part of the week we heard it was warm in the netherlands and it was only 20 degrees here and no sun at all, when they said you could only be 15 minutes in the sun wednesday we really had a smile as we were happy if we had one minute of sun :-)

When the temperature goes down again I will go and quilt this one and the stripquilt I made last weekend.

Garden Themed exchange received

Yesterday I received my garden themed exchange from Nancy . She stitched me a beautifull scissorfob and also a nice little bag that I love.
She also included some great goodies. I love the Blue de Chine pattern. I now see I forgot to put a little DMC kit in called Cyclamen that I received too. I will look in that finishing form soon.
Today I bought some backing fabric for the new quilt and also batting, so that I can go and quilt it soon. Just have to look and find a nice quiltingdesign soon.

A top in a weekend and a dj block.

Yesterday evening late. I finished this quilttop after a idea of Darlene of Quilting Daze . It is done from a Jellyroll and for the borders some extra fabrics. When I saw Darlene's quilt I totally agreed with myself that that was a great idea for a needleroll, I already had something with strips in mind, just couldn't find the right one. It is around 1.30 meter square. Now I have to go and think how to quilt it any ideas?
Than yesterday afternoon I finished also another DJ block. This one was much easier as it are all straight lines without any triangles or applique. It is my 12th square and they all look great together.
I have to go now for a fast breakfast and than of to work I go.

PIF gift for Zalita

I wasn't sure if Zalita had her PIF gift already as it was delivered at her parents, but I just got the word she has it.

So here is the pic.

It is a napkinholder.

I have been busy yesterday with the top of my Jellyrollquilt and it is will be gorgeous when finished, hopefully today.

a lot of things

First I want to thank Sari for the beautifull card she send me as a thank you for the animal shelf she received. It looks really great. Thanks.

Than yesterday late in the evening a package arrived from the UK from Chris. She had me as a partner in the Trip around the world exchange and as she is from Yorkshire she cheared me up with a yorkshire exchange and boy it is beautifull. I am not a teadrinker, but I will let you know what my hubby thinks of the tea.

Yesterday I have been busy with some more dj blocks and I got two of them finished. I was really afraid of this block as the star in the middle is very very very little, but when I was working on it, it wasn't that difficult as I thought it would be.
Than I started this one and well as most of the lines are straight it went very fast.

Than I wanted to sho you all that I still was busy with quilting, but just was to lazy to make a pic. I am going to make Leanne's House's "Journey of a Quilter"and this is block 6. I got that as my first block in a monthly shipment. I am doing the stitcheries in little steps a time, most of the time on thursday and fridays when I am home alone. I already have block 7 and 4 waiting for me and 1,2,3 and 5 are on their way here, but that package is taking a long time to arrrive. Today I will piece together block 4 and 7, so that I can start that stitchery too.

Yesterday I have worked o my summer exchange and I am not really happy with it. Will have to work some more on it. The Garden Themed exchange is now finished and will go in the mail monday.
