Also finished two other things but both are for exchanges, so pics will follow later.
I am a woman from the Netherlands. I am married to John and we have a cat called Sjors. I love stitching and quilting very much and most post will be about that.
Here is the quilt for my nephew which he will received saturday when we visit my brother. I just love how it came out.
And here is the Rosesquilt from my mother. I bought the kit for her in France, it was a pattern that has also been published in the Magic Patch. It is even more beautifull in real life. The wall you see behind it I have painted when they moved. It hangs in their bedroom.
I am now busy quilting, so maybe a nother pic of a finish tonight. Also went to the LQS and LNS today and bought fabric to finish the seasonal house exchange on SBEBB and for something I am going to add to the summer exchange on a dutch yahoo list. Those pics will come after they are received.
Today I received block 9 of "Journey of a quilter" from Honeysucklecottage . There is still a package on it's way from them with block 1,2,3 and 5, but I am guessing that took a slow boat as it was send the 15th of May and still no sign of it. Not worried yet as a package that took the longest took more than 2 months, so after the 15th of July I am starting to get worried. Still I love their service. I now have to only piece together blocks 8 and 9 and will do that the coming weeks.
Also I have finished 1/3 of the next page of Little Red Riding Hood, which is a HEAD design as someone asked, and so it is going fast and I only stitched with two colors so far. Probaly a pic will follow at the end of the weekend, beginning of next week.
Also decided on my next BOM, it will be from Quilthuis Lieselotje my local LQS, she will have a BOM with catfabrics, very adorable and I saw both color variations today and they are both beautifull. Will be a hard decision, but I like the autumn colors a bit more, but we will see which one it will be.

Now I going to finish page 6 of little red riding hood and also work on the stitcheries on block 4.

I love how it came out and as Jeannette is my favorite designer I also loved stitching it. This is the design through which I found the beads for take time to quilt spring, but still have to do the beading on that one.
Suitcases are packed, bike is ready to be put onto the car and I am off for a nice long weekend with my mother. Will see you all monday.

as you can see real summer colors. I am totally in love with it. Now on to the quilting. Just "Zomer" looks a bit strange, it is done by machine.
Now I am going downstairs to work on Little red riding hood as it is to warm to be very busy. At least we have sun now as the first part of the week we heard it was warm in the netherlands and it was only 20 degrees here and no sun at all, when they said you could only be 15 minutes in the sun wednesday we really had a smile as we were happy if we had one minute of sun :-)
When the temperature goes down again I will go and quilt this one and the stripquilt I made last weekend.
Yesterday I received my garden themed exchange from Nancy .
She stitched me a beautifull scissorfob and also a nice little bag that I love.
Today I bought some backing fabric for the new quilt and also batting, so that I can go and quilt it soon. Just have to look and find a nice quiltingdesign soon.
First I want to thank Sari for the beautifull card she send me as a thank you for the animal shelf she received. It looks really great. Thanks.
as she is from Yorkshire she cheared me up with a yorkshire exchange and boy it is beautifull. I am not a teadrinker, but I will let you know what my hubby thinks of the tea.
Than I started this one and well as most of the lines are straight it went very fast.
Than I wanted to sho you all that I still was busy with quilting, but just was to lazy to make a pic. I am going to make Leanne's House's "Journey of a Quilter"and this is block 6. I got that as my first block in a monthly shipment. I am doing the stitcheries in little steps a time, most of the time on thursday and fridays when I am home alone. I already have block 7 and 4 waiting for me and 1,2,3 and 5 are on their way here, but that package is taking a long time to arrrive. Today I will piece together block 4 and 7, so that I can start that stitchery too.
Yesterday I have worked o my summer exchange and I am not really happy with it. Will have to work some more on it. The Garden Themed exchange is now finished and will go in the mail monday.
Last night I finally got the new connection working and boy it is fast. Than today I have picked up my sewing machine and did do the groceries. Tomorrow it is time for some major cleaning and also I have to go to the local VW dealer for our car to get it checked out for my hubby, so that he can fix it. The light of the ABS system is glowing.
I am now going to finish the Garden exchange, everything is cut, etc. As it has to dry a bit before sending it will go out monday (a few days late, which is nothing for me), but well circumstances were a bit hectic here. It can be that I will change the finishing a bit, so it can be shipped out tomorrow after all.
boast so they could ride back home. Well I think his wife was a bit annoyed with her husband as he lat the light burn all night
Ventoux), and the winner would get a little trip somewhere in the world. So we said we would go to Orange and that they could ride with us. They were with this organisation . We were a day earlier. So we decided to bring them to their camping and than find ourself a hotel or Chambre D'hotes. We had a fast drive and when just before Orange there was a trafficjam, because a dutchman and his mobilehome where all over the highway we said we had phoned hime to do that so they could win
them as you don't take a lot with you when you have to pack everything in a backpack. So we climbed in the car again and Nico was very happy we brought his sweater. They decided we could eat with them. Well now I have to explain a little bit. When you go to a camping in the netherland with a group normally there isn't a cook with the organization, but with this organization they took a cook with them (even a few) and they prepared some great diner. We got as a starter couscous with vegatbles, smoked salmon and dressing and it was delicious. Than we got Rosti with some stuffed meat and fruitsauce and that was delicious too. We got home late that night and had a nice sleep in a very soft bed with one matrass. One time my DH turned and I did too around the same time and I almost fell out of bed as I jumped very high above the bed. As you can see on the pic the chambre d'hotes looked great. But the next morning we had great language difficults, there were also german people in one of the rooms and so we talked english, french, german and dutch within 24 hours, belive me than you get really confused in your words.
You can see a pic on the background here. The ride to it was really very very hard and I was exhausted around the time John took the pic. Also we had some nice looks on lavander fields.
. They had nice tapas there and it was a nice light lunch for such a hard tour. We got back around 6.30 at the hotel and than we met someone from Eigenwijze reizen and had a nice chat about this vacation and the one to Italy. They had put this one on one bike, but well that means you can do it easy and it wasn;t true all the rides we did were very heavy.
o tire as that is his job at home it went very fast. Luc said I will put the bike in the car and will not use it again this vacation, well I could see that as he now walked for 4 km's.

back from vacation and had a great time in France, I will tell some more tomorrow or later today, but first I want to show some things that arrived at several places while I was away. But a little pic of the things we have done. I survived biking up this col as you can see 186 meters high and boy it was hot every day.
First Carol recieved her PIF gift. I decided to use this creme cat fabric as soon as I decided which box to send to her. As she is a catlover I thought it would be appreciated a lot. By the way I am asked a lot to give a little kartonnage workshop and would be glad to do that, but first I have to do some writing for that. Keep an eye on my sight and I will let you know as soon as I have it.
Than I had send out the May Flower exchange to Renee and I read in my e-mail that she has received it. As you can see I stitched this same piece twice for two different exchanges. The pinkeep was for Vonna and when I was stitching that I thought it was also perfect for the May Flower exchange as it says May and Flowers, so what could be more perfect. I made this one in a little flatfold.

I have made her this box. I picked out the blue fabric as she has a cute closet in her kitchen and her kitchen has a lot of blue in it. I have still some fabric left and will make somthing from it, but after my vacation.
Todat we bought a lot of cloths. I have bought a new swimmingsoot as we have a swimmingpool at our hotel. Two pants that you also can make in to a little shorter pants and a real short pants. One skort which is a skirt that is also a short and I have bought two shirts. Also my hubby got some new cloths, so we can now go on vacation.
