Stitching and quilting goals 2009

Goals for 2009:
1. Bind Lentekriebels Done
2. Bind Cat's Paw Done
3. Finish the last round robin for the quilting sisters Done
4. Finish the top of Journey of a quilter
5. Make a few strip quilt and other WIM's in my closet Done
6. Work on all the WIP quilts Done
7. Finish at least 10 pages of LRRH (1 page a month) Done
8. Finish English garden sampler Done
9. Stitch some things for myself

Quilting and stitching goals

Quilty goals for 2008:
1. Finish the big star mysterie "Lentekriebels" at least the top, the quilting will take some time as it is very very big. - Top done, quilting is almost finished
2. Finish Journey of a quilter top or also quilt. - LOL this is not done at all. I am now stitching on the third block, but all the blocks are pieced, so that is nice
3. Finish Cat's Paw quilt top or also quilt - Top done and quilted, only binding to do
4. Work on my other quilt wips. - Did do that and started a few new ones
5. Doing some quilty exchanges like the fourseasons ones and maybe something like the secret santa exchange. Did do that too
Stitchy Goals for 2008:
1. Enjoying some more exchanges, but less than 2007. Yes done
2. Stay on track with the quilting and also with the stitching Round Robin With the stitching one I am totally finished even made two more blocks with the quilting one I am not on track at all, but hope to finish the last one in January
3. Finish NHA done
4. I wanted to write now Finish Little red riding hood, but well that seems a bit to much, but I want to finish 20 pages, which comes to 1 page per two weeks. Than there are in the end only 20 pages left to do, so it will be surly finished in 2009. By the way I have choosen the big print of the chart as that is a bit easier to do. Did do 9 pages
5. Maybe when I have time left stitch some things for myself. :-(

My SSCS gift

Here are the beautifull gifts I received from my sscs. Two beautifull quilts and a lot of other goodies. I just love everything. Thanks so much.

Some progress

Well I had a great time at my parents with great food and company. The presents I received from my family were two books, one from Kathy Reichs and one from Steve Berry, and good scissors for fabric.

Before I went away I made a few progress pics. Here is the first one it is from the Englisch garden sampler as you all can see I made some nice progress on it and since this pic I even made more progress. It was that I didn't have two colors with me otherwise everything on the left side of the first pilar was finished. I will surely finish that side today or tomorrow.

Than I made also a new block for my 1930 quilt. Will work some more on that quilt this weekend and probaly will also make some cloths for my niece as my DB and DSIL loved the cloths I made very much and as soon as my DF will send the pic I can show you how she looked in it. Today I had to make the tunica a little bigger as it was not wide enough, hope it will fit now perfectly.

My secret santa will get it's own post later.

Spring fling round robin

For this one I made the center. and I was very anxious to see what the other girls would do with it. Well I have to say. I love how they worked it out.

For my SSCS packages I can't open them at the moment as I let them home and I am with my parents, so will open them friday. More to see than.

Today I went with my mother to the city to buy some jeans and well I did very well. Two new jeans, two new tops and a new coat.

A few new blocks

I have been working on my 1930 sampler. I have to say I just love working on this quilt very much due to all the different blocks and different sizes. Today I made 3 blocks. They are all 6 inch. Only with the dutchman puzzle I had some problems.

Also here a pic of all the blocks. I have already sewn a few blocks together that could be sewn together. Next blocks I think will be the one below the blocks on the right side.

Birthday exchange received

I just got an e-mail that the birthday exchange was received by Marie P and that she likes it. I did send her the flossie a few posts ago and I finished spooky row from Bent Creek in a very long pillow.Yesterday also my buys from the fatquartershop came in. It is a charm pack, a layer cake and a jelly roll from Nature's Chorus from Moda. It will be a romantic quilt, but don't know how yet.

creating

When I was making the flossie I got another idea in my head for my sewing stuff. So today I started the sewing and well here you can see what I have done to it. I am very happy with the result. Here also a pic opened. Fabbies came from my local LQS. I had to go there as my mother finished the handquilting on my cat's paw and I needed fabric for the binding. Pic will be here as soon as I get it totally finished.

Also a new pic of Englisch garden sampler. Very busy with the foutain part.

Sewing

I got this pattern with an exchange sometime (don't know anymore with which exchange) and liked it very much, so I did put it in my whenever-I-have-time-to-make-this-basket and well the time had come today. Great way to put away your bobbins. I will be surely making some others as presents. They are christmasfabrics from Moda, don't know the serie anymore. Tomorrow after work I will go to my parents and watch my niece and nephew. And saturday morning and afternoon I will just have fun at my parents seeing what my mother has made lately in real life. Sunday I am planning to do some patchwork, has been a long time.

A lot to see

Well first let me show the ornament exchange I received this week. It is from Suzanne (don't have her website at hand sorry). It is one of my last exchanges from SBEBB as that one is closing. I am very sad to see it go, but totally understand Becky's decision. It probaly will give me some more time to stitch for myself.

Than a updated pic of Englisch garden sampler. I have done a lot on the border and I hope to show some stitching of the middle design next week.

Than I went on sewing again. I started sundayevening and today I finished the last bit of it. It is Kim from farbenmix and I like how it came out. I learned some new techniques with this one. I like the bottom at the front and back very much.

And off course also a pic of the whole set. Next on the list os probaly something for me this time, but you never know what will happen.

I also have more great fabrics for my niece, but first I have to finish an exchange so it can go in the mail and than all exchanges for 2008 are finished.

Sewing again..

I have been sewing for my niece again. I finished a little tunica. The pattern is from farbenmix . It is Roxy. I have made is in the smallest size. Hope they will like it. Next on the list is also something for her.

For the rest I am working also a lot on Englisch garden sampler and the border going fantastic, pic will come later this week.

Another one arrived

I just saw a message that another quilt I worked on has arrived. It is spring fling round robin 2 and I did do the last border on it.

This was the most difficult one for me as the first two parts were already very colorfull and I thought it needed a bit of a rest.

Here you can see it quilted and all finished.

Sewing

I have been sewing for my little niece. It is from Burda 9636, size 80. The fabric is from Stenzo and the fabric is grey and the back of the fabric is the pink color you see.

Mailbox has been busy and stitching to share

Well as you can read in the title of this post I have been having a very busy mailbox. Yesterday in de PO box I received some backing and binding fabric I ordered at webfabrics, line Portobelle market for my 40T quilt which I still have to make, but the fabrics were on sale. I ordered a blue for the back and a red for the binding, sorry didn;t take a pic of them and they are upstairs and I am downstairs.

Than yesterday evening a beautifull spider came in, that was a little christmas ornament from a stitchers group I am in. It is really beautifull made by Sisu. Spider is sitting on the fabrics. Today the mailman even had two packages for me. One was with fabrics I won at a ebayauction all 1930's fabrics. And the other one was with the SSCS package I received from Colleen. I am very curious what is in that very big christmas stocking.

Than friday I started stitching on a piece I am making for my aunt and uncle. It is Teresa Wentzlers Englisch Garden sampler and as you can see I only have been border stitching. Always love stitching on a TW very much. It has to be finished the beginning of March, LOL so all the time in the world to stitch on it.

Spring Fling round robin received

I just received my spring fling round and robin and love what the 4 ladies have done. The center is from Dorian, the first border from my friend Rose Marie , the second border from Toni and it is quilted by Laila . I just love it very much. Thank you all.

Yesterday I went into the city and found some fanrics to sew something for my niece She will be wearing purple. It will be her christmas present.

Also last week I bought some fabrics for her for cloths, but that will be used next year.Only the fabric that is above will be used before christmas too. The rest will be for later use.

For myself I am very busy with a jeans and it is almost finished, only the button still missing. That will have to wait till tomorrow as today I was gone all day to visit a quiltexhibition in Antwerpen where her angel storey quilt would have hung, but there was a disaster with it.

With my DH his new job we have more time in the weekends and just needed a day together away.

I got the word the past two days that two spring fling round robins I have worked on are received. On the first I did do the first border. If you click the image it should take you to the finished quilt. which Margaret quilted so beautifull.

Than I also heard Helen has received her quilt too. I quilted this one. When I received to be quilted I was totally in love with it and so happy to do the quilting on this one. I read Helen likes it very much. Lucky us who worked on it.

It arrived and also I was behind the sewing machine.

There is a special story about this package that arrived on my doorstep today. As you may know my birthday is in February. Well I am with the crazyexchange group and that organized a birthdayclub, but the person that organized it dissapeared and so Jacqueline stepped to make sure everyone would have a partner again. Well my first partner dissapeared, my second partner dissapeared too, from my third partner her package disspeared and than Jacqueline decided to make it herself and well that is this one. Isn't it beautifull. Also Bianca stepped in and she arranged the presents that had to go with it and I got a giftcertificate from the Handwerkboetiek. It is maybe 9 months late, but I couldn't be happier.

Today was stormy and snowy here and so I decided to spend a lot of time behind my

sewing machine. I made this jacket (it is for inside, can't think of the english name at the moment). It is from the Knip XL and it was great to make. I learned some new thing while making it and also had some dumb mistakes, but I am happy with the result as you can see on the pic. Next to make our some pants and jeans. Hope to show some more tomorrow.

Simplicity 3697 few B

with a few adjustments. No band on my back this time and I made my decolote a little higher, so I can wear it also with out a shirt under it.
Hated the fabric. Pic is bad, but well it is finished. Today also finished my ornament exchange and will send that wednesday with a lot of other exchanges. Hope to finish the sscs exchange also before wednesday so that one can fly away too.

I have been busy stitching these past days and the square is finished. I stitched northwoods sampler from Jeannette Douglas, well a part of it.

Now on to my ornament exchange. Already decided which one to stitch.

I am very busy...

with exchanges and round robins. I finished the quilting on the spring fling rr. Here you see the label. Pic of the whole quilt will be here when it is received, I may not send it till the 15th so the pic will have to wait awhile.

I have been working on my sscs gifts. I made it all out of 3 charm packs and a little piece of some yards I had from the Zaza line from Moda. Pics won't be here till she has open her gifts. Hope to send it out at the end of this week.

Also have been stitching on Erin's rr, I have my stitching mojo back and am stitching the house of Northwoods sampler from Jeannette douglas. Pics will be here when I finished my square.

Working on a round robin

I am very busy working on this round robin for a yahoo group. It took me awhile before deciding what to do. It came in just before I hurted my leg and I bought some fabrics for it, but wasn't satisfied at all and didn't want to work on it. Than a few weeks ago when my rr came home I got the inspiration and bought some fabbies for it. And here a pic of how it looks now. At the bottom I will add probaly also a string of green and some flowers. Do you think it need more? As I am not totally sure.
Also I am working on the spring fling round robin (quilting part) . This weekend I hope to work on Erin's rr so it can go on it's way on time. I think I have my stitching inspiration back now. I think I just stitched to much when I sat up with my leg. Didn't feel like stitching at all. This week I also got in Just nan's christmas ornament issue 2008 and well that got a lot of my stitching inspiration back. Already decided what to stitch for the christmas ornament exchange on SBEBB. Will start stitching that one soon too.

Pumpkin patch exchange arrived

Finally I can show a finish

I just got the word that the Halloween exchange arrived at Michelle today. What a relief as it took more than 2 weeks to travel to the USA.

It is part of witch way finished into a pillow. A new type of pillow for me and I just tried something and lucky me it turned out great.

Pumpkin patch exchange

This week I received this beautifull exchange from Lisa. I love it very much. She made me a beautifull pinkeep. I also love the fiber, fabric and chart she included.

I am a bit worried about my Halloween exchange as it still hasn't arrived. Hope it will arrive soon otherwise I have already another halloween design to finish in to something.

Yesterday I went to Amsterdam to meet Yvonnewho was there together with her daughter. We met at the quiltshop Birdblocks together with Marion who we know from a dutch quilting list and also Martineanother Blogger. We had a nice chat and I also bought some fabrics, a book and some pencils. Nice afternoon and the train was working with me too. I loved the day very much.

This week also my own labels came in I got them made at Holland label Don't you love them. One big reason to order labels is that an exchange I made this year and send to the receiver. The receiver

has send on to someone else. Well I can now live with it, but this is to prevent that.

Today I also finished the Pumpkin patch exchange, so that can go on the mail tomorrow.

Now I am on to quilting on Lentekriebels again.

Where have I been busy with

Well I have been sewing on my Spring fling round robin part 3 (which was the second border). I have send it out today. Hope the end receiver will be happy with it. I have let the middle design come back in the second border and that worked out fine and as the rest of the quilt was really hectic, the rest of the border is just plain.

Than as I already told in a few posts I am busy with my wintercloths and so I have bought some extra fabrics. You will see this being tunics/shirts soon. Now I only need a stretch denim fabric for some jeans.

Than yesterday also my order from Amazon came in. Two Jennifer Chiaverini books. I will love cooking the recipes from the book for sure.

Sticthingwise I am still waiting for my halloweenexchange to arrive. Silly me forgot to put in the goodies I bought to go with the exchange, hope my partner won't be to sad about that.

End of this week I hope to send out the pumpkin patch exchange. Only have to do a little on it and than it is ready to be send.

Also the big news is that the middle part of my big quilt Lentekriebels is finished and I am now busy with the last part of the border. Still hope to finish this month, but it will be close.

After that I surely will be busy with stitching. I hope some stitching laides are still reading my blog as the comments section is a bit silent. Well I am planning a giveaway when I have finished Lentekriebels and I am sure I will get a lot of comments than.

Also decided that for the SSCS exchange I am going to make some gifts with a jellyroll and some yardage.
